As some of you know, I am in the process of purchasing a 3-sided Michael B Petite Princess set from Pearlmans. Imagine my surprise, when earlier than expected, I get an email from Jason (Bill''s son) last Friday, saying that the set was ready. Anyway, by the time I got his email, it was already after hours for them, so I had to wait until Monday (yesterday) to call them back.

Jason tells me that because of his overly critical eagle eyes, he noticed that one of the prongs was not quite right. And that if I would trust him, he wanted to send it back to Michael B to be fixed. Talk about QUALITY CONTROL and customer service that''s second to none!

I have attached a pic that Jason sent me. You can see what he''s talking about. In reality, it''s probably about a fraction of a mm off, but it''s something that I would''ve noticed and would''ve bugged me over time. I''m so glad that they were proactive on my behalf and sent the ring back for me so that I didn''t have to deal with it on my own.

Pearlmans ROCKS! I cannot recommend them enough.

Amazing! Talk about attention to detail!!

Wow, I can honestly say that unless you pointed that out to me that there would be no way that I would have noticed. That being said it would be a real shame if you all of a sudden noticed it a year or two from now. That's the trick with going with a good solid retailer. They make their money based on their reputation and will always give you their best. I talked to several people down there when they got all the Daniel K overstock in house. They couldn't have been more helpful.

You can't put a price on piece of mind so I'm happy that you found someone who will get it perfect so you can rest easy.

Jason does have eagle eyes. I love Pearlman''s!!! I can''t wait till you get your new ring, I adore that setting!!!

Wow, I don''t know if I would have noticed it either. What incredible customer service! I can''t wait to see it once it is done. I love this setting.

That is fantastic! It''s going to be even more beautiful once they sort out the prongs for you, but it''s so refreshing to see that someone is looking out for you on the sales side of things.

Both Bill and Jason are the best!!

Wow! That''s fantastic!

I think I probably would have noticed... but then, you think if the retailer didn''t notice that perhaps you are being overly critical.

I wish the jeweller that arranged my setting had even 10% of that much pride in what they send out!

An awesome testimonial for Pearlman''s, their customer service & attention to detail - I am impressed> :)

PS. BEAUTIFUL ring! :)

Wow that is awesome QC!

They are great.
I just received a quote that was $1700 cheaper than my local place was charging for the same Sholdt setting.

Recommending them to everyone now.

Your ring is a stunner btw. Almost makes me question my semi-bezel

That is wonderful that he noticed it right away, I am not sure that I would have had you not pointed it out. It will be perfect and on your finger in no time!

Thanks Everyone! They truly are amazing! I would recommend them hands-down to anyone.

MP - Did you get any of the Daniel K overstock pieces? I would love one of the solitaires, but DH has said no more diamond purchases for a while...
orbaya, Kaleigh, Catmom, pixley, Feb2003Bride, Tacori, Diamond*Dana - Thanks, I can't wait to see the finished product!
Cleo - Yep, my husband actually asked why Michael B didn't notice before they sent it out...but who knows. It looks more obvious in the magnified photo, but perhaps, barely noticeable in real life? However, I'm overly critical when it comes to details, so I'm glad Jason noticed it and is taking care of it for me.
elle - I love the Sholdt semi-bezel setting. It's so fluid and simple, yet extremely elegant. It's going to be gorgeous!

Wow that is great customer service!
I think Pearlman''s is wonderful. They were kind enough to send me the MB 3sided Princess just to see it in person and try on. It was great to have it for a day!
Congrats on a stunning ring Cutey! I cannot wait to see the pics. That is my ultimate dream ring!

Great quality control!!! I can''t wait to see the finished product, it''s going to be amazing! What are you doing with your old setting by the way?

Thanks Angel7, kcoursolle! I''m keeping my Ritani as is. The Michael B is a new stone that I purchased from Pearlmans (bigger, 2.75 to my original 1.14).

Awesome, now *that''s* how to do an upgrade!

and that is why I just love them so much. I am way picky when it comes to stuff like that and I just LOVE that they are too. yay for Jason for noticiing and getting it fixed b/f it made it to you. it would be so hard to send back once you get it. I can''t wait for Jason''s eagle eyes to go over my new setting too

Yep, me too. Asymmetry really bugs me...so that "off" prong would''ve gotten on my nerves. I can''t wait for them to get your new setting either!

That's great, cutey!! Im sorry you will have to wait a little longer for your ring, but thank goodness Jason caught this mistake before they sent it to you. Im sure that prong would have bugged you for sure. Now that's great service!!!! Pearlmans is truly the best!!!

Its beautiful by the way!!! Cant wait to see if all done and on your finger!!!

Ohhh! So pretty. I love that setting. Michael B was at Zadocks last summer and I spent so much time playing!
I know it''s hard to wait, but that is going to be so worth it.

Pearlmans is indeed great.
Can''t wait to see your pics.

I think Pearlman''s understands the typical PS customer very, very well!

Not just anyone shows the world highly magnified photos of their rings, and we DO notice flaws that way! So good for Jason for saving you the disappointment and trouble of sending the ring back! 2.75 in MB, wow!!!!!

Wow Cutey, it sure is beautiful! The prongs would have bothered me too so that''s great that when you get it it will be all set for you to enjoy! Congrats, and I can''t wait to see more pics!

Thanks again all for your compliments! I really think that the Michael B setting doesn''t photograph that well, for some reason. IRL, the prongs and setting are so delicate-looking! I guess that''s what magnification of micropave does for you...not like the smooth, fluid look of polished plat.

Dani - Honestly, I''d rather wait and have the prongs be perfect... But yes, Pearlmans really goes out of their way for their customers!
bebe - I love Zadocks. They have tons of great stuff in there...definitely a fun place to play. Are you in Houston too?
diamondseeker - True that. I''m looking forward to seeing the finished product. BTW, I love your new set. I was going to go that route too...a beautiful Leon Mege solitaire, paired with a thin micropave band...but with the prices of diamonds skyrocketing, I decided to get a slightly smaller stone (0.3 mm to be exact) and get a fancier setting. I really do love the classic look of the plain solitaire though!
777 - Yeah, us PSers definitely have eagle eyes as well. I''m pretty sure once I noticed it, it''s all I would''ve been able to see.

cutey, do you have any idea when you will get it back? I have to wonder what the folks at MB think of Jason''s eagle eyes

mrssalvo - not sure. I don''t think it would take them very long to fix the one prong, but who knows how much work that actually entails. I figure, at the latest, maybe by the end of next week? I''m actually not in a huge rush or anything. Well, hopefully Michael B will make sure everything is 110% perfect before sending it out this time, knowing that Jason will be looking at it again.
2.gif

well, i hope it doesn''t take them too long. although, is it me or were they ahead of the predicted 4 weeks you were expecting to begin with?

Yes, I think it took them just 2 weeks to complete the setting once they had the stone in-house. Very fast, right?

wow that is fast. you must have caught them at a great time!! 2 weeks for a handmade MB 3-sided pave ring
6.gif
. well, i bet they get it fixed for you quickly and you have that gorgeous ring next week!! that is just so wonderful. i''m just so excited to see your new set!!!!

Wow, Pearlman''s rocks! Great review and can''t wait to see your ring; it is going to be beautiful!

Cutey, did you get your new rings?
