I decided on a setting that would be very simple yet substantial enough to be a "stand alone" ring. I chose a three stone setting with pear shape accent stones. I have questions about sizing of the accent stones as well as their ratio.
What size pear accent stones would be best with a 2.00ct round center stone? This is a nice setting:

I tried to copy and paste and it didn't work
If I ever get this ring can you imagine me posting a photo!
If I'm reading this chart correctly, www.ajediam.com/Pear_diamond_sizes.html , I think a .50ct would be sufficient. (6.00mm x 4.00mm).
Kaleigh's ring has .78 side stones (if I'm remembering correctly) but her center stone is a bit larger as I recall. Lucky girl.
I think that.78ct is too large for a 2.00ct. I would love to go that size but I want the center stone to stand out. I haven't been able to see anything locally to help me figure this out.
Another thing, do I need to be picky about the cut of the pear's if they are just the side stones? I know that better cut helps the bow-tie effect. I don't want the side stones to take away from the center stone with a strong bow-tie.
I think I would like chubby pears. Does that mean I should pick something with a ratio of 1:45 or 1:50?
And what about color? Should the pears be the same color or better than the center stone?
Any ideas?
