Paying For Large Diamond From Online Vendor?

I am a new member. I am trying to be careful and educate myself. Would someone be so kind as to give me some safety/security tips regarding method of payment for diamonds over $100,000? I do not feel comfortable with a bank draft. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wire the funds from your bank to theirs.

My mistake! I should have stated I do not feel comfortable with a bank wire. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

^Maybe speak to them about meeting face to face so you can hand them the money?

It's a large amount, but if the vendor is someone that PS deals with, I'm fairly confident you'll be okay.

Thank you for your responses. I think your advice to meet in person is the safest. I guess I've been reading all the great experiences on Pricescope, and I thought there must be a safe way to purchase large, pricey diamonds online. I would request Pricescope member's opinions on a specific diamond before proceeding regardless.

I have been searching on Pricescope vendors, especially James Allen. I've been really impressed by some of his responses to member's posts. Unfortunately, it will be an ordeal for me to visit since I live in another part of the country!
