I have a halo setting for my Ering that was designed by ERD. the shank is 2 pointers, so I believe the band is about 2mm. The ring was made 2 years ago, but because it took 3 tries to get it done somewhat correctly I was turned off to working on a wedding band at the time. Well fast forward to now, it is really time to get a band. I am still trying to avoid going custom as I don't have a trusted jeweler in the area and ERD is too far to make a trip. I saw a really nice one on blue nile (platinum, u pave) and its reasonably priced (around 2K with their current promotion) . However, it is about 2.4MM. Is there a significant visual difference between 2 mm and 2.4? What are your thoughts or recommendations?

For my eyes there is significant enough visual difference between 2mm and 2.4mm. I guess the question is, are you going to be wearing the band with your e-ring? If so, do you want them to be the same mm? Or would it please you to have a slight visual difference when worn together? Or will you be wearing the band solo? I think 2.4mm is a nice width because it's still dainty but it's wide enough to show off the diamonds.

As far as BN's quality, I can't attest to their pave bands, although they look very nice on the website :). I have a plain 2.5mm platinum band from BN that I wear 24/7 and it's holding up very nicely.

Thanks for your feedback - I do want the band to be as close of a match as possible to the e-ring, so I guess 2.4mm may be too wide. I plan on going to a local jeweler and if they don't have anything for a similar price at lease seeing what the 2.4 will look like next to my band.

I had this set for a bit. It bugged me that the widths on the bands weren't the same. Because they weren't different enough. If that makes sense. It was probably the difference of .5 mm or less. I just thought you may like to visually see what it could look like. Edit! Sorry it's upside down. I'm on my iPad and can't fix it.

But my current set, the wedding band is about twice the width of my ering and I love that.

Thank you, unsettled! That certainly helps.
