very cool diagram mrssalvo. i could have used one of those before i started my custom project!

when i was working w/ quest, they referred to the "stems" as the "basket" and the "shank sides" as the shoulders. I don''t know if they had a name for the galley, i just called it the "bridge"

so then in the WF quote, where exactly would the surprise diamonds go i wonder. would it look like this?

Yeah I e-mailed them back asking more questions. I dont know if that price is for 18k gold or platinum or what. 2 surprise diamonds? I dont know about that- all I got from them was what I posted. Thanks.

your quote is quite a bit lower than the one i received from them before, but they didn''t specify the size of the melee for me, and also they quoted 20 in halo and 14 in shank for me.


did they include in the custom design the 2 surprise diamonds on the sides of the ring?


i''m not sure what an ''open'' galley would look like, maybe like one of those ritani rings that have only the shank supporting the halo? i received the same note w/ my quote although i had assumed it was referring to my request to widen the basket area a bit. sorry i can''t provide better info

mrssalvo - lol, that''s what i thought! but then i checked what stinger quoted from WF and figured what do i know

. so gallery it is then!

stinger - we got ours from Quest, we were quoted i think it was 5 wks from the receipt of our center stone. it took a few days longer because of some issues communicating the look of the final detailing. but they had the non-etched version finished before the 5 wk mark. also we had a matching set of rings made. They seemed pretty busy and i had to push a little to get the initial cads by the second week or so. But yeah, be sure to leave some padding if you''re on a deadline.
