Hi, I''m new to this board and have already gotten some great information. My e-ring chipped pretty badly and I am going to purchase a new stone. I''m probably going to buy an oval between 2.0 - 2.5 C. I''d like to have a pave band and was considering surronding the stone itself with micro paves. I''ve seen this style with ascher, princess & brilliant cuts but cannot seem to find one with an oval stone. I''d love some feedback on how the ring as described may look. Also, if I was able to cihp a 2.15 oval stone and take a .02 chunk out of it, am I crazy to consider a pave band? I just think they look so pretty. Thanks for any feedback!

Well....pave is delicate. So yes, if you bang your rings around a lot pave might not be the best option for you.

But the Ritani ring I posted probably has some of the best quality pave work around, so IF you''re going to get pave a Ritani is as safe of a bet as you''ll get. You might just have to have stones replaced now and then, but you might not either because your other ring chipping might have been a fluke.

I thought about re-cutting it but they said it would loose about 20% of it's weight due to the way the ring chipped. I chose to cash out the insurance instead and buy a new stone.

Thanks for the picture & advice. The Ritani ring is really nice. Hopefully, I can make a decision soon.

Sounds pretty!

If you type in the word "halo" in the search box, you''ll get tons of threads. Now, they won''t all be ovals, but it will still help give you an idea on the different types and sizes.

Please post a pic when you''re done, we''d love to see it!
