Looking at a pave ring as a wedding band option.

This Etoile is a three row, 1.8 carat band: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?sku=GRP00097&mcat=&cid=&fromGrid=1&search_params=s+1-p+1-c+-r+101287466-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+etoile&search=1

Facets has a few options, all le$$ than the tiffany versions. http://www.thefacetscollection.com/search.cfm?item_category=FEB&style_number_id=22

Ct and other variables aside, is the Tiffany so much more because of the brand? What are your thoughts on quality (workmanship and the diamonds)...

apologies for the newbie question...

With Tiffany you get unsurpassed quality. You do pay extra, but the quality is apparent. Quality endures. A Tiffany ring will still be worth $$ when others are reduced to scrap. There are many B&M stores that carry "Tiffany" quality items without the big sticker (and Tiffany label).

I have the pave etoile engagement ring, the quality is fabulous but I only got the ring because I bought it second hand for less than half of the Tiffany price, I would check out the facets return policy, order the band and take it to Tiffs to compare, of you are happy with the quality you saved quite a few thousand dollars....

I have the facets one. I have worn it everyday for 2 years and I have dogs and kids. I am not gentle on my rings in any way and it still looks great. No stones lost. So I say save the $!

Off the top of my head, I know that neatfreak has this eternity ring from Facets, and here is her SMTR thread.

From what I can tell, she seems to like it just fine

ETA: Whoops! Looks like she already chimed in.
