Hi
Can you tell me if you had a Platinum ER, could you buy a Palladium Wedding Band and wear them together? Would they rub together and would 1 ruin the other?
Thanks

Depends more on the design of the rings then the materials.

Usually it is the stones with exposed girdle that is grinding away at the other ring, or the milgrains rubbing off it that is present in the ring design, will happen with any material.

I wouldn't worry about it.
With normal wear-and-tear, I'd say that the ring is more likely to get significant damage from knocks and scuffs during normal daily life, than from the rings wearing against each other. I would expect two rings to be OK together for a lifetime and more.

Hello Scotslass,

I agree that it would depend more on the style of each of the rings than it would on either of these metals. For my 35th birthday I treated myself to my first piece of palladium - a diamond and palladium stackable eternity band that I wear in between my platinum diamond stackable and a 14K white gold stackable. All three rings look fantastic after over a year of wear together, and only my white gold ring has truly needed any upkeep. Keep in mind that palladium is going to wear similarly to how platinum does, being both a naturally white and 95% pure metal.

I hope this helps. :)
