Palin in 2012?

Could be...or it could just be that she''s...you know...not so smart and she forgot her crammed canned answers? Either way, YIKES!

I'm seriously wondering if she'll even have much of a political career after this fiasco (and by fiasco, I mean election). It seems as though she has very few staunch supporters except for the Republican base.

Palin: A Liability for McCain

ETA: Google: "Palin McCain liability" --it's kind of scary how much pops up

I have a strong suspicion she''ll be around for a while...

if Palin runs in 2012 and is elected, i''m leaving the country.

I think that''s precisely what her advisors, and whoever it was that urged McCain to nominate her, have in mind. Ok, maybe they sold it to mcCain as a Presidential run in 2016, but... she was definately picked on the basis of her future in the Republican party, not on her accomplishments to date!

Andrew Romano:

Is Palin making plans for 2012?

I ask because she''s contradicted John McCain on a number of subjects in recent weeks--and every contradiction seems calibrated to preserve (or even enhance) her standing with the Republican base should the Arizona senator lose on Nov. 4.

ps we could start our own pricescope expat colony if we could agree on where to relocate!

I'm so up for it MZ. First choice location?

I don''t see it happening. I don''t know any Republicans that REALLY support her, and two that think that she''s causing the implosion of the Republican party.

I think she would be a fantastic candidate for 2012, her approval rating outside of Alaska is 32% and her approval rate in Alaska is now under 50%. (Think of SNL''s ratings!) According to polls, she appeals mostly to the R base, not to moderates of either side, so statistically it would be an easy win for Dems, and would totally encourage a run by a centrist R like Rudy or someone not appealing to the Bible Belt but to fiscal conservatives. It would be an interesting election.

PS: think how cold Sweden is! Stick around and fix stuff here

In all seriousness, I think she will run for 2012. I think she''d like to. I do. BUT I don''t think she''ll make it through the primary. Unless in the next four years she starts studying and doing things like, oh, I don''t know, reading the constitution. LOL.

I do think Palin and her advisers have their eyes on 2012. I think she thinks she can get there. But I have doubts that it will come to fruition. The Republican base love her, but that''s about it right now. That doesn''t leave room for independents and the like.

I think she could also go back to Alaska and fade away into the sunset after some her embarassing gafts, I''m sure some GOP''s would like that. I also think she could stick around and have a real future on say Fox news and being a pundit type roll. She''s very good on camera even if she makes some stupid comments, she is good in front of the camera.

I wonder if she would even be re-elected in Alaska. I''m not even sure about that. Who knows, maybe she won''t run for reelection. Maybe she''s move with her family to Washington.

If having her run would send all the dems out of the country it could be the best thing to happen to the U.S. since the Revolutionary War!

And then the libertarians could overtake the republicans!!

Oh, don''t worry . . . the Dems aren''t leaving if she merely RUNS! They would have to stay in the country at least long enough to vote against her. They''d only leave if she actually WON!
