Hi Phoenix (or anyone who knows her!)

I remember you were looking for a large asscher cut. I was in my favorite jewelry store today and they have a 10 carat asscher right now. Stunning does not even describe it. Cannot remember the color, but it was VS1, and the only inclusion was a small, invisible cloud. My world went black when I laid eyes on that beauty!

I wanted to let you know it was out there. I took a couple pictures which I can send you if you want. I also asked him for a copy of the GIA report, which I can send you too. :)

I'd love to see this gorgeous stone go to a PSer, so let me know either way...!

Re: Paging Phoenix!

My husband helped me upload these - new camera. I am certainly no photographer and you can still see what a knockout this stone is, especially those wide, gorgeous corners! Just for reference my rings are rose gold and size 5.

This one isn't as flattering, but you can see the faceting more clearly!

I've never ever ever eeeeever seen a diamond that big and beautiful, let alone held one!! I would have been shaking like a leaf

She's going to drool over that one!

WOW!!!! thank you for taking pics :)

Holy Smokes!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o I've died and gone to bling heaven!!!

LOL, it's funny you mentioned hands shaking - my hands actually were shaking, too hard to press the shutter button on my camera, my dad (who was with me at the time) had to do it for me! This diamond is now my desktop wallpaper. It'll never be on my hand, but I have bought a couple smaller (MUCH smaller) pieces from Jake, who has been in the business over 60 years, and only had really good experiences with him. I bought a ring for my momand wasn't totally sure if she'd like it - he told me to bring it back any time and I could exchange it for anything else in the store and he'd give me back what I paid in credit. Can't beat that kind of service. I was also looking at an opal ring, and he told me honestly that I shouldn't buy it, and why. I really love that guy!

Do asschers face up really small compared to rounds? When you said 10ct I was expecting it to look much bigger :) can I ask what the dimensions are since you have the report?

Wow.... Amazing... :cheeky:

Wow, the difference in mm spread for a round and asscher are huge! That's about the spread of a 6 ct round!

Beautiful, nonetheless!

Dare I ask how much it is??

It's 6 figures, but the shop often provides a good price off the 'sticker' given that their jewelry is all consignment. For reference, I generally pay about 1/2 to 2/3, but that is on gold jewelry w/ diamonds, not single stones. I would imagine the discount would be less for a stone. Depends how badly the original seller wants to part with it (i.e. how badly they need the $$!) Anybody interested should google "palm desert estate jewelry co" and it's the first listing that comes up (I don't know if I can link or provide a phone number, certainly don't want to step on any toes!) Ask for Jack. :wink2:

OH MY LORD!! I think I blacked out temporarily, lol!!

Thank you for this, nararabbit. I'd love to get more infor (though I am afraid it's waaaay out of my price range). I tried to google the company, got a couple of results and cruised their sites but couldn't find this gorgeous beauty. Would you mind terribly giving me more infor via my DB conctact (Preloved forum)? I'd hate for the price to be driven up by lurkers!! I prob wouldn't be able to afford it but my curiosity has got the better of me, ha ha..Thank you.

Sure, check your messages! They also take some really gorgeous rocks on consignment, and they have a pretty good turnover during the season (November-March which is our big tourist season.) So perhaps you could sell him a few of yours to nab this beauty! They were trying to do comps on it, and found only 6 other comparable stones in the world. Definitely a unique little beauty!

Phoenix, I've only been here for a year and I think that the first post I read was about you wanting a 6ct+ asscher! And if there are only a few in the world at this size, the only finger better for it to be on is mine, and well.....that's not in the cards! I'm happy that you are doing a wee bit off investigative work, I'd love for you to have a stone like this!! ...or the 8.5 Octavia that Karl can turn it into for you. :lickout:  :naughty:

Wow that is amazing!!!!!

Dayyyyummm!  :naughty: :naughty:  8) :o :$$):
