Since you are the resident asscher collector and I happened to stumble upon your picture of a 3 stone asscher bezel that you have posted. I would like to ask you, first, what size are the asschers in that ring? Do mind if I use that image to send to my metalsmith? I would moidfy it so as not to steal it from you. I want the shank to be the same mm as the side stones and then of course finish the bezel on my asscher aquamarine ring.

Hey Radiantquest, I actually found that image during a regular google search while I was looking for 3 stone bezel set asschers, and to be honest, I''ve never been able to find another image like it, so I''ll be watching your project with interest.

Since the image is of a presumably sterling/sim ring, I know nothing about the measurements of each stone, unfortunately.

I posted before I was done, Radiantquest - ack, sorry!

Absolutely - please feel free to use any and every image you do find.

Thanks so much. That photo is nearly a perfect representation of what I want. I did a little work with MS Paint and sent it to her. I am going to widen the shank to match the dimension of my side asschers and I am also getting rid of the lattice looking work on area below the stones. She said that she may refer me to someone else that can make a wax so I can see it first. I cant wait!

Just wanted to let you know that I am getting it made. I got an awesome quote on it and I should have the ring in about 6 weeks.

Awesome news Radiantquest!!!! I can''t wait to see it!

What metal will it be in, and who did your quote? If you don''t mind, what was the ballpark on the quote?

Im glad you asked. It was Scott Schreiber. It seems that no one around here has heard of him but I really like him so far.

I chose white gold because that is what everything else is. He told me that he he isnt into rhodium plating. I tried to search on here, but the search function is down again. Do you happen to have pictures or know of someone who has pictures of white gold not plated?

I asked in SMTB/R to show me that gallery of their rings and there doesnt seem to be any takers. That is the only part of the ring that is up in the air. I assume that Scott has a plan since he already quoted a price, but said that he would get with me to make any changes I might want. He is very busy and said that he will not even be able to begin fabrication until 3 weeks from now so we have a lot of time to toy with design. Any suggestions?

I will tell you that it was less than $1000.

Fantastic - I''ll definitely be looking forward to seeing his work.

I believe most of the James and Caleb Meyer pieces that are white gold are unplated. I''m hoping someone will chime in here because I can''t think of anyone off of the top of my head.

As for the gallery, I''ll try and pull some interesting galleries together for you.

It seems that the search function is back. I am not sure how I would feel about the unplated white gold. I may like it better so it really makes the aquas pop. I guess I will figure that out later.

As far as the gallery shots it seems that most are regular 4 prong solitaire that turned up. What does the profile of your avatar ring look like and other bezels of yours?

I''ll post them as I find them. I have like 20 pages of pics in the gallery.

I am thinking about maybe a simplistic X design to match the asschers. I just dont know yet. Yours are all open? I suppose I could leave it open too.

Honestly, I have a 3 stone with all x prong patterns. I love the profile of it and I think it would be lovely with bezels.

RQ-I put a picture in your thread!

He asked that I send him pieces that I no longer wear to use as credit. One was a pendant elephant and it had 8 tiny diamonds in it. I was wondering what you would think about setting them somewhere in the ring? There is no way I would be able to use them anywhere else and he said that he would send them back to me, but I am sure that I would lose them before I could figure out what to do with them. I was thinking maybe setting them into the bezel on the eight corners of the center stone. I dont know if it would look good or even if it is possible to set them in the bezel. Let me know what you think.

He said that he is going to make the wax and then send me his ideas on what to do with the area below the stone. I may leave it open or do something with it, not sure.

I will ask if he doesnt mind I use his pictures. I wouldnt think so, but most have been sent to me personally and I do know if there is any rule on putting them in a public place.

Radiantquest - what about setting them into the shank, or maybe even into the profile/gallery of the ring? Maybe 3 on each side somewhere in the basket and then 1 on each side of the 3 stones?

Here''s a sketch that Julia put together for how to set a couple of diamonds into my garnet ring. I ultimately chose not to go with the diamonds, but I did really like the look of her setting them into the open area between the split shank.
