Bugaboo, where are you? Wondering how you went with your searching and did you contact Alldiamonds

Hi there Monnyjay!!

Great too hear from you! Yes, I did get some prices from Alldiamonds, but after reviewing my options ( I have a notebook full of info from prices received form Sydney merchants, jewellers, drawings, ideal measurements, etc!!), overall Ellissi was the winner in being the most competitively priced, offering the best quality stones, providing prompt service, advice and education! I have paid my deposit for Ian to handcraft me a 1.26ct F, VS2 Round Brillant, GIA, Hearts & Arrows, into a 18ct white gold Halo setting!!!

I am very very excited, and cannot wait to see the end result! I emailed Ian a few photoes of the exact ring, and he emailed me back some similar designs he has made in the past. I will be speaking to him again tomarrow as I have sent him my wedding ring which he is going to use to ensure the new engagement ring matched!

How have you gone in your search?? Have you spoken to any other diamond merchants, jewellers?

Hi bugaboo, good to hear from you too! I am glad you have made a decision and found your diamond (Yay, it''s a good feeling). I found Ian to be great too and his workmanship looks excellent on the website. He is so informatiive with and helpful and has quality goods. I bet you can''t wait to get your ring, will you pick it up or have it sent (a good excuse for a nice weekend in Melbourne town)? Did he give you a timeframe (yesterday will be fine thank-you, lol)

Well my news is also good. I met with a wholesaler yesterday and saw a range of stones e.g. from 12pt EVVs to 30pt for tiffany style eternity band. I have more or less committed to one set, they are on hold with a jeweller in town. I was having trouble trying to decide which way to go full circle or larger half eternity. Finally decided on half which will be just over 2ct total E/F Vs 30pt. I am still tossing up whether I should pay Ian a visit in person, before making my final decision. This wholesaler sells to some of the high end jewellers in the city. I am not obligated to have the ring made by the jewellery designer the diamonds are left with, it is my choice. Apparently, they are excellent designers been in the business for a long time and the price quoted with very reasonable for hand made.

I think this journey is coming close to an end. I have had quotes from overseas (Brian Gavin) Lesley, lovely lady, but the exchange rate kills! I also tried Holloway, prompt response, very friendly but way too expensive and over my budget. Hopefully, within the next few weeks we will be showing off our new sparklies. Will let you know my final decision over the weekend. Are we not allowed to PM (exchange email address)? Not sure of the rules

WOW, an etrernity band......

, sounds beautiful and 2 ct of sparkle!!! I agree with you about the half band with larger diamonds! I think if you are happy with the jeweller and they have an excellent reputation, then stick with them if they are well priced and have the great reputation....then again, if you have the time, you could see more sparkles with Ian!!!

. Your sooooo lucky to be close to a major city where you can view so many diamonds, I am soooo jelous!

I will be getting my new ER sent, as we are a very long way from Melbourne, and I have 2 little boys, the youngest still a baby, so travelling is quite difficult as you can imagine! Time frame about 2 weeks to make, then ring is sent to an independent valuer, and the to ME! Ian will send photoes ob=nce its finished, and I'm sooooooo excited!

I look forward to seeing some pics of your new eternity ring, and I promise mine will be in SMTR as soon as I get it!
