Packing Cubes...

I don't know about this particular brand, but I have packing cubes and I love them. Mine are made by Heys luggage (they are made from recycled water bottles) and they come in sets with a variety of sizes. I wear a size 12 - 14 and can get a lot in them. In the large which is 18"L x 12"W x 3"D, I can fit 3 pair of pants, 2 pair of shorts, and 1-2 dresses. They make packing simple and so convenient when going through customs, especially when they want to check your luggage. I use the small for undergarments, socks and bathing suits; the medium for tops and also have one made for shoes that can fit 2 pair of men's large shoes. They also have a special bag for toiletries that sits flat in your suitcase. I find that when I use these I don't overpack which was always an issue for me.

I have bought a few but I didn't find them really helpful. Instead I bought some Jumbo size Hefty zip lock bags. The problem with the packing cubes is that I couldn't get the air out of them so they didn't get as flat as I could get with the zip lock bags. I could get just as much in the bags but rolling out the air worked better for me.

LOL this is what I presently do! They're like the 2XL or 3XL size. Ridiculous. I get all of mine in one, all of his in one, and then his socks and underwear in another. He waers the one pair of shoes all the time. I pack one and wear one, in the event I think I need a nicer pair than converse which is rare.

We can get almost everything for both of us in this big duffel bag, but It's SNUG when we go for more than a couple days.

you do roll your clothing, right?
its amazing how much one can pack into a space when one rolls........put underwear in that spare pair of shoes as well.

No, because it actually took up more space rolled than it did flattened! I tried that last time, and we ended up dismantling it and just doing it like normal. His clothes rolled up are particularly HUGE. I tried to rubber band them even.

I do roll my clothes before I put them in the zip lock bag, then I roll them from the bottom to get all the air out. Last trip I took, I packed
10 days worth of clothing in a carry-on. I did it for all four of us and it worked out great.

my husband is 2X and i'm not small, medium, or large....sigh. and i over pack a bit despite cutting back.

the trick to rolling i think is getting the garmet into an appropriate rolling position/shape. i get way more into our luggage/packs by rolling than i ever would with flat packing.

youtube.com has a lot of advise, including sucking the air out of bags with your vaccuum. one guy was talking about being a size 3X and how he much he was able to pack for a trip to europe.

also, for the "army roll": due to my husband's 2X shirts, i do an additional fold in half before startiing the roll.

I will practice that for my next trip even though we'll probably drive. Thanks!

He's a 3XLT or a 4x (if it's longer and there's not a Tall option), and I am easily a XL-XXL in most stuff, in part due to my rack.

ame, i commiserate......we share the same size for much the same reason.

happy packing!
