Looking for:
Princess Cut 1.0 - 1.2 CT
Color: F - G
Clarity: VS1 - VS2
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Best cut I can find
Budget $7000 for diamond alone

First off, had I not found this site I would have purchased the first VS1 stone I saw, but now I realize there''s so much more to it. Anyway, I''m in the market for a 1.0 - 1.2 CT princess cut diamond and at the moment I feel overwhelmed. I''ve been looking at diamonds day in and day out for the past week and still haven''t found anything I''m in love with. I''ve been to Robbin''s Brothers, but wasn''t happy with their prices. I spoke with someone at Pearlman''s and they picked out 5 diamonds, but I''m weary about buying a diamond on-line without seeing an ASET image or magnified image. By the way, I''m glad I learned about ASET images, seems to make purchasing a diamond without seeing it first hand MUCH easier. I''ve got so much running through my head right now I don''t even know where to begin...

Before I embarked on my search, I thought I wanted a VS1 stone with a color no worse than F, but after speaking with an individual at Pearlman''s he suggested I look at color G and clarity VS2 because it''s a better value and I could get a bigger stone. What are your thoughts on this? I like the idea of the bigger stone (1.1 - 1.2 CT), but want to make sure I''m still getting a great quality diamond. Prior I wasn''t sure if I was comfortable with a VS2, G, but now I don''t know.

If I plan to buy a diamond on-line without seeing it first hand, it seems almost absolutely necessary to see an ASET image before purchasing, but from what I''ve found not a lot of vendors provide this. Do you guys feel these images are an absolute must prior to purchase?

I''ve been searching here on Pricescope, Whiteflash, James Allen, etc, and have found a lot in my price range that match what I''m after, but a lot don''t provide ASET images or anything like that. How do I know I''m not getting a dud diamond?

Which would you all prefer:
* 1.0 - 1.05 CT
* Color: E - F
* Clarity: VS1
* Polish: Exc
* Symmetry: Exc

or

* 1.1 - 1.2 CT
* Color: G
* Clarity: VS2
* Polish: Exc
* Symmetry: Exc

both with depth of around 72-75% and assuming prices are similar.

I''m going insane here, maybe you guys can find something that meets my criteria that I missed? I greatly appreciate any help.

First off, had I not found this site I would have purchased the first VS1 stone I saw, but now I realize there's so much more to it. Max, G VS2 is still great quality, so that is good advice you received from Pearlmans. As to images, personally I wouldn't want to purchase a Princess without detailed photos at the very least. ASET are indeed invaluable to help evaluate each diamond, so if you can find a vendor that supplies them, so much the better.

I would personally prefer a larger stone with G VS2 as if the cut is good it will look just as beautiful as a diamond with D IF! We can certainly take a look to see if we can find you some suitable contenders, is the 7k just for the diamond or does it need to include the setting?

Hi Lorelei, $7000 is just for the rock. I''m already set on the Ritani Endless Love setting so I know what that will run me from Pearlman''s.

What do you think about this one?

There seems to be a lot more red than green in the ASET.

I also do like the one you suggested:

I was in a similar situation as you, wary about buying online.

I ended up getting a diamond only from goodoldgold, they provide tonnes of info on the diamond.
Here''s an example.

I would contact WF if you like these diamonds, and have a chat with them as to which one might be the best choice for you. Red is supposed to represent the most intense light return with ASET, green is next, they both look like well cut stones which are worthy of consideration.
