Hey guys, one of my groomsmen is getting married, and naturally... turned to me for advice! Ha!!! I told him to run!!! J/k, wife hasn't poisoned me yet, so I must be doing something right!!

Anyway, now it's his turn and his fiance to be is wanting an oval. Of course I know to get an ASET!!! I think the vendor is working on getting that for him, but preliminary thoughts about these two stones with included reports?

Please let me know which seems best (btwn these two), no bow tie effect as reported from vendor...to me, the first seems best

I am not an expert but if I have to pick I guess I will go with the top aset. But I would rather pick neither. Too much white , not enough red and green. I know I have seen much better oval asets.

Top one from the ASET. Can the vendor make a side by side video?

I would pick NEITHER TOO!!! Man, ovals are difficult.

I'll have him ask.

Intel said she wanted cushion so he was going to go with a BE cushion, after initially wanting a AVC... Then Intel said she wanted oval!

Between the two, yeah top is better, but how difficult is it to find a really bright oval? I mean how well cut can these be or are we expecting to see ASETs like these?

Between the two, the top one for sure.

It's hard to find good oval Asets, and you may not get all that much better than the top one. You have to remember - Asets are pictures from one static pose - and the Aset picture will change as you move the diamond from side to side. With movement, you may see a lot of sparkle still - but it's not going to be as bright as a round brilliant face on under a light.

Here's some stones - much larger than what your friend is looking at with relatively good oval asets, I think.

I also saw from the reports, he's looking for something in the one carat range. I just flipped through a bunch of stones on B2C's site to find these. I'm not sure what his price point is, but these are fairly good for an oval. I just use B2C for a quick search because they show Asets for some of their stones right on the site. It makes it easy if you just want to get an idea of how the Asets look in general.

Note that I didn't really screen for anything else - other than a decent Aset for you to see.

.

This is decent, but if you look past the differences in ASET set up the top one actually has a similar ASET to this one, excluding the slight bowtie blue.

Titan, I am doing some sleuthing on oval ASETs currently actually. The results are not yet in.

Can you let me know budget, I'll see if there's anything standout at JA for you.

I see that those are 1 carat and in the H VS range.

Thanks for the help, Iota and Gyps.

I'll pass the info along. Chris is making a video tomorrow. I'll post a link up.

He may have to settle with some sort of oval...

Gypsy, thanks!!! I was looking at some of those for him too. I'll pass it along too
