It's okay. I would probably look for a better cut oval.
The Aset isn't great under the table (the top flat surface of the stone), and it could probably use more red. With fancy cuts, there's always going to be some compromise with performance. It won't be blaring red like the H&A rounds, but it should be a bit better than this.
I didn't receive commentary from the gemologist. One of JA's rep's sent me the aset but I just emailed and asked if the gemologist had any comments. So, based off this aset should I knock this diamond out? Is an aset the end all be all? The video and the specs look great so I'm just confused as to if it's a good choice or not.
The gemologist said that the diamond is white in color and eye-clean! It has minimal bow-tie and the faceting and shape are attractive! The overall light performance, in person, meaning the brightness/ brilliance and fire is above average (There are some dark areas).
of course. If you can make it to Long Island (I know it's a hike on the craptastic Belt) then take it to GOG with you too.
Becareful in the diamond district. Do not mentioned you bought it online except to BE or GOG. If anyone else asks just say that you bought it locally. The Diamond District is full of sharks.
