oval advise

I like your choice, it looks like there is a bit of leakage under the table but I think that it common with ovals and there doesn't appear to be a strong bow tie effect. You can request up to three ASET images from JA so I would recommend picking out a couple more that your interested in and ask for a side by side gemological review and ASET for all of them. I'm on my way out so I don't have a lot of time, but I'll try to take a quick look for other options, and I'm sure others with more experience will do the same throughout the day.

The first suggestion by 04diamonds looks heavy to me on the bottom, you will notice that the dimensions are similar to the stone you are considering but the K has a higher ct weight. This happens a lot in fancy cuts so it's best to shop by dimensions rather than ct weight alone. I would also recommend that you see a K in person before selecting one for an engagement ring. Some people are fine with the slightly tinted appearance, and many face up quite white, but I think you should see one IRL before deciding how you feel about going that low.

Ok I found a couple that I think might be good options, hopefully someone with oval experience will chime in. I know that these two options are smaller in wt than you were looking for but if you look at the dimensions they are going to face up very close to the 1.2 you posted and the 1.4 that was also recommended...

of course needs an ASET, there is possible leakage under the table....

ETA JA offers a pricescope discount but you have to ask for it, there is also a discount for wire transfer

I am looking at getting the setting from GOG...but not sure... I am in love with this tacori style

I like that 2nd one...it seems clearer...now the color..are the color in ovals important...I have found I like my stones in the hij range typically like in cushions....but in ovals will it be significant? And in a yellow gold setting I have noticed diamonds look whiter....I am hunk that setting but in yellow gold.....

Have you considered asking Jonathon to find you an oval in your price range? He has all the tools you need to make an informed decision and can do video comparisons for you. I didn't see much listed on his site, but it looks like he has a few waiting for information to be posted.

Color is really personal, some people are color sensitive and prefer to stay above an H, some people aren't and can go quite low. In some cuts I have a higher color preference than in others, for instance I love an icy white step cut, but think lower colored cushions are yummy. Ovals are a cut that I think are most attractive in a higher color, but it's personal preference only. I think the metal choice of the setting makes a difference as well, I adore lower colors in RG but love the contract of an icy stone in yellow gold. I currently wear a J RB and if or when I upgrade the stone it will be to a higher color. I think it's worth go shopping and having lots of colors pulled for you to look at and see what you think. I've found from posting here that often we think we are ok (or not ok) with something only to later find out that maybe we aren't. kwim?

I just received an AVC I am considering and am in love with it. It is a 1.27 J color. I know exactly what you mean about color- I thought I was okay going down to MN colors- but when I saw it- I was just not. I love J though not icy white but not yellow. And the AVC cut makes it look whiter than what it is I think. I was thinking of getting an oval after seeing that tacori rose gold with the oval ----but now I feel like I may be sticking with this AVC.
I love it! My boyfriend thinks I am nuts going back and forth but I think we are finally settling.....I may consider the oval in the future for a right hand ring....that tacori in rose gold is beautiful!!
I love working with GOG they have been so patient with me. I love the AVC and will def consider the oval to get through them in the future as I love to my RHR in the future.
Thank you!

ooooo....heidi!
That is a great find!
Looking at it -seems reasonable and good spread as color and clarity....
