Well, months ago I promised y'all that I'd try to find someone who had taken a picture of the hilarious wedding cake from WP1. It was so ugly that it warranted some documentation. But we sent the photographer home after cocktails, so it took a while to find someone who had got a picture. Well, I finally located one!

Just look at this extremely hideous wedding cake! It is a classic of the genre! It was sooooo ugly, that I couldn't stop laughing long enough to cut the thing.

Ahahaa! heehee. Still makes me laugh.

We asked the chef to just do plain white icing, but I guess he got carried away! At least it tasted delicious.

By the way, I hated the flowers too, but my mom's gardener did them for free, and beggars can't be choosers! The awesome WP2 flowers more than made up for it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow.

Yeah. That''s all I''ve got.

Teeheeheehee! At least you have a great sense of humor about it all. Thanks for making me giggle today.

I know! I know! It''s like a 7Up ad gone very, very wrong. And very, very radioactive.

Truly a sight to behold!

AHHAAAA! It will bring me joy for decades to come. I''m so glad I found a picture.

OMG, I love that you have such a great sense of humor!! Because it is hysterical....

It''s looks like one of the first time I tried to bake a cake for my Mom and I couldn''t frost the thing to save my life. I had to keep packing icing on because the cake just kept lifting off and then the weight of the icing starting to cause the cake to collapse.

On the bright side. I have seen some truly gorgeous cakes that I wanted to spit out of my mouth.

I would take a hideous cake that tastes good over a picture perfect one that tasted like poop.

BTW, I spy you behind the cake and you look ravishing with that all furriness draping from your shoulders.

Why thank you, Miracles! I loved my vintage ostrich feathers! Then I passed them along to another bride who loved them too. And she promised to keep them going after her wedding, so hopefully lots of brides will get to enjoy them, and the bird in my avatar will not have died in vain...

wow...it def looks memorable. But taste is most important!

HEEHEEHEEHEEE...Oh, my. Maybe the baker is colorblind?

Color blind? Well, if he wasn''t BEFORE he made the cake. He sure is now after looking at it for a while!

To be fair, he''s not really a baker. He''s the chef who works for my mother whenever she throws a dinner or party. He happens to bake really well, but he certainly never studied cake decorating or anything like that, and his specialty is culinary, rather than visual aesthetics. Thankfully, the whole meal was outstanding, and the cake really was as delicious as it was hilarious.

That cake looks delicious

Like the kind of cake that once you bite into it, your entire body wakes up LOL

WTH? You asked for a traditional white iced wedding cake and he went with colors from the local gas station???

I''m glad it was tasty but I cannot imagine what the dude was thinking

It sure looks festive, though!

I think that would be the reason I would like it too! The little unusual things in life that are fun!

That''s funny. At least it tasted good!!!

That is truly amazing. Epic, actually.

You''re my kind of gal, Indy, for being able to laugh about this.

It was easy to laugh about, because I couldn't have cared less about a wedding cake to begin with. We didn't even have one at WP2. My mother basically did all the planning for WP1, and she was the one who thought we should have a cake. So I was all "OK, whatever!" The cook had actually shown us a picture of an epicly ugly cake he made for his brother's wedding, and we were all "OK, NO!!! NO NO NO! PLAIN WHITE! PLAIN WHITE!!!!!" But I guess he just couldn't help himself.

And hey I'm all for an extra laugh at the end of the evening. I considered it value-added.

Very little of the aesthetics of WP1 appealed to me much, actually. But it kept my mom happy planning it! WP2 was really my game.

It''s like a cartoon! Definitely a statement. Ha! Love it!

I''d have slid under the table I''m sure. God, that is absolutely hilarious!

When I was 17 I was baking chocolate chip cookies, something I did often enough to have it be almost routine. I pulled out the first sheet and the sight of it had me shrieking. It was a runny, gooey mass, that looked not unlike something the dog hurked up. Well, my mom hears me howling, comes in, and I thought she was going to fall straight to the floor laughing, which of course made 17 year-old me mad, "MOM!! Stop LAUGHING!!!" And then I started to cry out of frustration and embarrassment, which just made her laugh harder. Then I finally started to see how ridiculous it was and started laughing too. (I had forgotten some of the flour, of course. I fixed it and went on.) However, my mom put several...um...a section...hunk?...of those cookies on a plate and kept them out in the kitchen for several days. Every time she''d walk by, she''s snort and snicker. That thing still had the power to get a giggle out of her 20+ years later. In our family, you are NEVER allowed to forget something like that. Too thin skin isn''t allowed, which is good, because now I''ve got the ability to laugh at stuff and myself.

Great cake. As long as everyone closed their eyes, I''m sure it was delish.

Thanks for the good chuckle, Indy! So glad it tasted good and that you could laugh about it!

Not gorgeous that is for sure!

Good to have a sense of humor about things, makes the stressful stuff better.

OMG! That is the ugliest cake ever!! Yellow and green??

Glad to see you have a sense of humor about it!

That was my first thought when I saw the cake!

That IS an ugly cake, but you, my dear--that''s a great shot of your shoulders! Looks very high-fashion.

I hated our wedding cake, too, it was pretty ugly. I''ll post it if I ever get our professional wedding pictures.

I love your sense of humour about it - it''s hilarious!

I think it''s so ugly, it''s cute!

ya know, and i''m COMPLETELY serious about this BTW, i''m throwing a Sesame Street-themed baby shower for a friend in a month, and i seriously may copy this cake. not so much the ideal wedding cake, but it''d be perfect for this baby shower!
