I'm surprised this hasn't be discussed.

Here is the list: http://oscar.go.com/nominees

Which ones have you seen? Who do you think will/should win?

I'm really intrigued by most of the Best Picture Nominees, none of which I've seen other than Moonlight. Have you seen any of them? What did you think?

I'm dreadfully behind in my movies - I haven't seen a single BP nominee!!!

The only movies I've even seen on the entire list are:
Zootopia (best animated)
Fantastic Beasts (best costume)
13th (docu)
Suicide Squad (makeup)
Jungle Book (visual effects)
The Lobster (original screen play)

That makes me so sad! I've usually seen at least half of the entire list! My job is really cutting into my movie time these days, sheesh.

I only saw one - Jungle Book. The visual effects were amazing.

I want to see Fences. I always liked Denzel Washington. And Viola Davis is a native Rhode Islander.

I really liked Manchester by the Sea.

I did not care for La La Land.

I've only seen parts of Zootopia only because DS has watched it a few times on netflix. Found it mildly irritating which surprised me because I usually like animated features. At this point in my life, I can only manage to watch a movie once a week on one of the streaming services and none of the nominees are there yet.

Oh my goodness - I've actually seen several nominated movies! Retirement is wonderful!

The movies I've seen:

LaLa Land
Jackie
Florence Foster Jenkins
Kubo and the Two String
Lion
Star Trek Beyond
Rogue - A Star Wars Movie

I haven't seen enough movies in any category to weigh in on who should win, but I will say that I thought both Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel were incredible in "Lion."

(Ruby: I enjoyed LaLa Land but I happen to like musicals, and I didn't think it shone particularly bright as a musical.)
