Ordered A Jaffe ring 8 weeks ago and still waiting!!!

I ordered an A Jaffe ring setting 8 weeks ago from through my jeweler. I was originally told that it would take about 3 weeks. I have been patient, but now after 8 weeks I am very frustrated, especially since my jeweler keeps telling me that they we receiving no communication from A Jaffe and can't even get me a reason for the delay other than 'we are busy' and it will be 'any day now.' The setting is for a 2.74 ct round diamond. This was supposed to be an exciting experience for me, and instead I am just annoyed and feel like starting over with a different jeweler and designer.

It's really unfortunate that you were initially told 3 weeks as that's unrealistically short for an order placed in the run-up to the Xmas-New Year's holidays, when there are so many proposals, and therefore more orders stacked up than in, say, July.

I just did a search of PS & there's this post from 2006 where one PS'er said they received their e-ring from A. Jaffe in several weeks & another member recalled that it took approximately 12 weeks for an order placed at apparently about the same time of year as yours (in an earlier post, rms said it was 10-12 weeks):

Wow! If you ordered prior to the holiday rush, there's no reason for this, and no excuse for no communication. I don't blame you for wanting your stone back (if it's your stone you provided) or to cancel the whole thing and start over elsewhere.
