Hello,
I feel like a total idiot. Please forgive me posting again. This diamond thing is a huge commitment.
Does anybody like the stone on the left???
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/is-optical-symmetry-needless-perfection.10184/
Stone 1 looks similar to the one on the right.
Stone 2 is similar to the one on the left on the above link.
Is the H&A pattern something I will readily see often? I''m not that fond of it, but of course want the best fire and light return.
I''ve been reading a LOT on here, day and night (cramming years of pricescope threads), looking for I don''t know what, to help with this decision. I am STILL going back and forth between two beautiful stones. Both have a lot of color, sparkle. Some say that when the diamond is dirty from everyday wear, most people will notice the symmetrical ones looking better.
Here are the vital statistics previously posted:
Stone 1:
GIA certed, I, SI1, "eyeclear" to me
Depth 61.4%
Table 55 %
CA 34.5
PA 40.8
Stone 2:
Depth 63.4%
Table 56 %
CA 36.5
PA 40.4
HCA: 1.7 Excellent, within FIC range (Ex,Ex, Ex, G)
Star/ LGF 55/80
Girdle: med - thick fac
The salesperson says she would take Stone 1, larger and less expensive. It does look surprisingly larger. That is the one I selected, but they are waiting for the head to come in to set it, so I am still going back and forth. My husband says I am just taken with the idea of a "fire stone" ---frankly, after I look at the two stones for some time, they start looking practically the same to me! The salesperson says, I just keep staring at the smaller one -- she nor my husband can figure out the attraction to that one. Thankfully, they are both being patient and just want me to be happy.
So is there really more color in a fire stone????
To me, there is a great amount of color in both of them. I see nice evenly dispersed colors in Stone1, maybe more yellow flashes, but certainly good colors. Stone2, I see more purples and orange at the edges --- oh, and this is in the store, not out in daylight.
If I look over at them when my husband is looking at them, say a couple of feet away, I can see the difference in the "G'' and "I" colors, but honestly, it isn''t a huge difference and the fire/brilliance seems much the same. And I don''t think it would be apparent if they weren''t right together.
There is also the LGF consideration -- many things at play here.
I''m always chasing rainbows....
Thanks for your patience, especially those who already helped!!
