Been a long time lurker but am finally about to pull the trigger on this stone and need some advice on this stone 1.9 G VS1 GIA Triple Ex HA. I've been reading a lot and wondered if a table of 54% is close to an ideal or it doesn't matter too much. Thoughts?

table: 54%
crown: 16%
pavilion: 43.5%
crown angle: 35%
pav angle: 41%
thin to med girdle 3%

Thanks.

Its worth asking for a picture/Ideal Scope.

this is what I have

I was offered another one but not sure just looking at numbers if this one is better than the first. both are a premium above the market pricing

Pass on #2 ..low crown + deep bottom half.. :knockout:

Thanks dancing. figure #2 wasn't too great of an option

As for the first stone. someone mentioned that a 54% was too small so its making me hesitant on getting the stone but in checking all over, 53-58 is the ideal range and some have told me that the sweet range is 55-56. I don't know if the first one has good enough all around numbers.

#1 looks great. #2 numbers not as good.

If its being sold as an H&A, ask to see the H&A as well. Their definition of an acceptable H&A may not be as strict as yours. Don't pay the premium if you don't have to.

Since the CA is at the steep end of the ideal range, and the PA is at the steep end of the ideal range as well, ask for an idealscope if you can -- from the ASET there looks to be a little less light return under the table, so looking at the IS as well can't hurt. My guess from the ASET is that the decrease in light return probably won't be discernable to your eyes though.

thanks ca. I've attached the IS in the following image.

now I came across another stone of the same size and specs but I want to know which is better. one of these stones is more expensive and I'm trying to see if indeed one is worth more than the other or in this case or both are so similar it doesn't justify the added expense. Note on stone 2 (new one) GIA says it has faint fluorescence.

Stone 1 is the original one I posted about and stone 2 is a new one I was just shown. please anyone let me know your thoughts.

TIA
