I am considerring purchaing a diamond form a online retailer. I found a diamond i liked which the online database listed the cut as ideal HA, but the retailer pointed out the GIA reported the graded as "very good".

I''m wonderring how the brilliance scope data compares to similar diamonds given a GIA cut grading of very good?
How do these brilliance number compare to similar diamonds given a GIA cut grading of excellent?
If I go out and get a diamond with a GIA excellent cut will it very likely outperform this diamond or am I potentially just spending more money for little to no return.

From what I''ve seen I don''t think I''ll be able to afford an AGS 0 and still get the color, clarity, carat I want so I''d have to downsize one of the other characteristics. Any opinions?

Here''s the info from the GIA report
Carat: 1.2
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Fluorescene: None
Girdle: Medium, facetted
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Cut: Very Good
Culet: None
Table Width: 55%
Table depth: 61.7%
Crown Angle: 36
Pavillion Angle: 40

This damond has been on a brilliance scope and scored as follows:
brilliance: H2
dispersion: VH1
scintilation: VH1

When I plug in these number I get an HCA score of .8
Light Return: Excellent
Fire: Excellent
Scintillation: Excellent
Spread: Very Good
