Hello, looking for comments and suggestions on this:
Purchased, via telephone transaction with a friend's recommended B&M, 1 PR. ROUND BRILLIANT CUT DIAMOND STUDS 14KT WG 4-PRONG BASKET 1.64 tcw 0.82 carats each, both color G, both SI, with a very good cut. No certification. Paid $4,900.00
I had them appraised by (very well qualified Independent appraiser) appraiser tells me I recieved: 1.52 tcw based on formula, 0.75 carat / G / SI2 / DEPTH 61.1% /TABLE 57.3% and 0.77 / G / I1 / DEPTH 60.1% / TABLE 61.8% Both with polish - good Symmetry - good flourescence - none. Replacement cost $5,900.
1) IS it possible, based on the measurements above that the stones could actually weigh .82 each? B&M tells me that they the tcw is 1.64 and that the appraiser is wrong. Appraiser said based on measurements, they really doubt that the weight is .82 each??
I appreciate your time and opinions!
