Before looking at this site and even now there is so much to know about diamonds. I called up and talked to whiteflash about this diamond and they said it was not eye clean. That you can see if you look closely some inclusions here is the link

http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-283291.htm

Now that scared me that you can see black dot/s if you look close so I now nolonger think that is a good diamond.

Here is another diamond I am looking at since it is VS! i am assuming it will definitly be eye clean but well see what they say. What do you think of this diamond.

This site has made me look for things that I would have never looked at before. Am I crazy for not wanting to see any inclusions? Not sure what to do.

No....Noticeable inclusions with the NAKED EYE is a NO NO!!!!!!

The VS1 diamond from WF is a great diamond and you will not be disappointed with it!!! Cant go wrong with an ACA!!!!

I love my ACA

MWG, just for clarification, he''s picked an ES, not ACA. But no matter, it will still be a stunner!

The second diamond you chose looks great. However, not all SI1s will have visible inclusions. Many are completely eye clean (when graded by GIA or AGS). Even some SI2s will be eye clean. So don't let that first diamond scare you away from all SI1s. If you talk to someone at WF, they will find you an eye clean SI1 and you can save some money or improve the diamond in another way (bigger, better color) if you so choose.

Ditto...a VS1 guarantees that it will be eye-clean, but with a little work, you should be able to save yourself some money by finding an eye-clean SI1. But it''s all about personal preference when it comes to clarity. I wanted the highest clarity that I could afford, so I ended up getting a VVS2, even though everyone here will say that''s clarity overkill.

At any rate, that H/VS1 looks very good to me, so if you like it, reserve it!

I don''t think you are strange at all for wanting an eye clean stone. I agree with this. However, not all SI''s have visible inclusions. However, the H/VS stone you picked looks lovely.

Since I am all over the place with what I am looking at. I had a few questions right now i am strictly looking at the cut, which is ideal, a near colorless color and seeing no inclusions. Should I worry about the depth and table? I am very confused when I look at James Allen because I think I see a good diamond but am not sure.

What confuses you about JA? I'm confused about what's in-house there and not, but I don't know that that's what confuses you.

Meanwhile, though your pick is good...do consider this freckle face, too. With cut a premium, this looks to be well cut. I read that lots of dots on the cert for an SI1 is promising with respect to actually being eye-clean...but you'd have to check. It also has medium blue florescence, which you may or may not like; many do. Finally, WF has one w/o flor, sized about .81, also a G SI1...less markings on the cert...and don't know what that means. But...the search by cut db turns up 3 near in price...and if a) being eye clear is of concern...and it reasonably is...b) and you find you can continue to trust WF as your arbiter of this status (they've served you well so far), c) you might, as my friends above suggested, not yet give up on SI1s...as VS2s in this price range are a bit scarce.

Most people are thumbs up, though, for Hs. If you're a bit more comfortable with the premium for the VS1, you've a nice choice, too.

Regards,

I was confused on James Allen because they do not give all the stats like the paviliion angle on their diamonds. There were a few that did and I put them into that calculator at the top and the diamond did not rate well even though it was an Ideal cut. This concerns me because how do i know the other diamonds there are cut right for the light return, fire, and the other item. I put in the stuff for white flashs and it scored all excellent besides weight distribution

dmb,

If you''re trusting significantly the HCA to guide you toward winners...not so whacky...I stongly encourage you to likewise rely on the search by cut db here. It pre-examines diamonds by each vendor here...including James Allen, WF, GOG and more...and only when it gets the score you want, will the db register even the existence of the stone. Saves you time...since you are sifting with this HCA tool, anyway.

Since a vendor may choose to not have their diamond included in that db, it''s not foolproof for getting them all. But, it gets a lot...including probably most from WF & GOG...and it a helpful time saver.
