Hi,

In a few weeks I will be buying a stone from Jonathan@GOG
1.gif

It will be either:

A- http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_60ct_d_if__h%26a.htm
or
B- http://www.goodoldgold.com/1_84ct_d_if__h%26a.htm

Which one would you go for and why?

Thank you for your input!

Oh My! Hodne! Those are 2 gorgeous diamonds!!

Same color, same clarity, and fairly equal in proportions and performance.

I'd go with the bigger one, if price was not an issue.

Hodne! I was just wondering what you decided on...I guess just in the process. I would go with the larger one as well, since I really don't think that there would be any discernable difference to the eye. Unless Jonathon thinks that one looks a bit better to his eye.

Both stones are beautiful. I just got a stone from GOG for a friend and I am very happy with it. It was very sparkle and beautiful. Johnathan is a great guy and trustworthy. Go for it if one of them is what you really want.

Honestly, you really can't go wrong with either of them. It will really be up to you on the size difference. Since the price difference is only about $4000 which isn't that much more at this level

I'd say get the larger one. It will turn alot more heads. Either way, those are two fantastic diamonds.

By numbers, those are virtual (pun intended) CCs: down to the last scratch on the Sarin report. I would expect that held one near the other there would be nothing to tell them apart, aside heft. If any birthmark on either twin, it didn't get caught in the papers. Is there a coin anywhere near your keyboard, Hodne?

If anything, the design of the ring may advocate for the smaller or the bigger - not that there is a huge difference in size... For six prongs and a shank, the "coin flipping" criteria applies 100%

No one can help with this, I am afraid !!! Jonathan, ca we get a "family picture" of these brothers lined up between somebody's fingers?

Now, that's what I call eye candy!

All yours man!

Smaller is sparklier, bigger is... somewhat bigger. And that hand is almost twice mine (btw, the second picture appears life-size on my screen).

I like the one on the left.

I'm confused - weren't you the one that was dead set on nothing over 1/2 carat? Or was that someone else.

They are stunning. I don't think you can go wrong.

That was someone else

Id call Jonathan and have him pull them out and discuss them.

Other than size there isnt a whole lot of difference.

I will be going to NY in a few weeks

They both look like spectacular stones.

If you haven't already, you might ask Jonathon to eye ball them for you and talk you through any differences that he sees, and see if he thinks there is a visual difference between them that would sway him one way or the other.

Otherwise, I think you have to decide what size seems most "right" for your lady's hand and the ring style. They are both good sizes -- I happen to like the 1.84 size -- it's noticably big without being HUGE, but then 1.6 isn't small either.

Not too shabby of a decision to have to make!

Oh well, than the pictures make a good example for what you might want to do, if they are not persuasive enough already

It looks rather hard to keep those two in balance

though, they seem to make a very nice couple indeed...
