Please take a look at the CAD drawings and give me some help/opinions - I"m not really liking it-too angular and chunky. Does the bar set channel rounds look OK with Princess center? Not so sure!

CAD usually looks blocky.

WOWOWOW.

That is amazing! The CAD always looks bulky but I can tell you that it's going to be an amazing ring! The proportions are beautiful. The side stones are nice and big, not too big or too small. Just right.

So pretty! That's going to be a stunner! When I saw my CAD, I nearly fell over. It's always way way way more delicate when you get it. Remember, the CAD is also huge and magnified. On your finger the metal will be thinner between the side diamonds and the prongs will be much smaller.

If it looks THIS good in a CAD, the final product is going to be AMAAAAAZZZIIIIING. I love the size of your channel set stones.

I like your idea and it's a nice concept, but I think it's maybe a little too thick. Instead of having 3 rounds per row on the sides, how about just 2 per row? So instead of 6 total rounds on each side of the princess cut center, just 4 on each side.

looks pretty, are you planning on wearing a wedding ring with this? if not, I think the width is great to wear solo. If you do plan on wearing a wedding with this, then maybe scale the shank and sidestones a bit.

Is this for yourself or an engagement ring *gift* for someone else? Its not my taste & I''d venture a bit further to say that it is neither currently "in style" nor "classic". Though many people probably enjoy that style I''d say that its quite out there as far as engagement rings go and I''d hesitate to select it for someone *else*. If you love it & its for YOU, then ... CADs are generally blockier than the finished product.

OK, I was blown away by the design initially but revisiting it with the expert comments posted here...

The only thing I''d change is the width of the band. Maybe have it taper in a little bit as Laila and D&T suggested. I figured the overall effect is the chunkiness you''re looking for? The design is a knockout if you''re into that style ring and I think it''s lovely. But deco''s right if the overall effect isn''t what you''re after. I personally find it... yummilicious!

Thank you all for your comments so far...keep them coming if you don''t mind. Here''s the story in a nutshell. My wedding ring was stolen and so this is new, for me and I want just the one ring to serve as both engagement and wedding - 32 years of marriage. So, I am not a spring chicken but don''t conisder myself old and stuffy either. That is why I opted for the wider shank to look substantial enough to wear as my total wedding ring-no band. Don''t want an old fashioned look though... Please continue your replies-I need all the comments I can get. Thanks to all.

How bout integrating the head into the shank? so its more fluid? the reason I say this is because right now the head is just a standard peg head that I see all the time at the mall and other jewelers, somehow I would think making a trellis flow and lessen the number of sides? perhaps?
Do you like metal showing or diamonds?
