Hi all.
I posted a while back about a specific setting I was looking for.
When a local shop had the vintage setting I had seen so long ago- I feel in love. The jeweler told me the ring was Russian and probably from the 50''s or so and had an Old Mine Cut diamond, which is common of Russia from this period. I''m wondering, from a first glance alone, if any of you can suggest if the stone in the ring is a real diamond or not. I am not particularly concerned with quality, because I''m not sure I wouldn''t swap it out anyhow, I just want to be able to make an informed offer/decision.
I''ve tried the few tricks I''ve heard of (I''m far far far from knowing much about diamonds) but the breath test and it doesn''t fog and I tried to read through the bottom of the setting which was also impossible. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much in advance!!!
