Hello All
I recently got engaged to my fi (3 weeks) with a gorgeous engagement ring from Mark T. I haven’t taken any pictures of it because she doesn’t want to. She figures that if someone wants to see it, come see her :) . Anyway I have started thinking about wedding bands and would like opinions.

Her ring:
Her ring is 1\2 eternity style with (5) .05ers on each side (Total 10) of the center stone. The .05ers are set shared prong. The Center stone is a 1.8c set in a 4 prong head.

My dilemma.
I want to get a bit more bling on her finger for the wedding band. I have two ideas BUT don’t know how they would look aesthetically. These are:

1. Step up to .10ers for a 1\2 eternity band. I don’t know how they would look in comparison to the .05ers on the engagement ring.

2. Do 2 rows of .05ers 1\2 eternity on the wedding band (2 rows of 10)

Any input is greatly appreciated>any pictures would be great too.

Thanks
JOE

I''m trying to visualize this ring, but, I''ve come up with about three different versions in my head. Can you see if you can find a similar ring pic and post it or link it so we have a better idea of what you''re working with?

What about two bands, one half eternity on either side of the ER? I think that is a classic look, with extra bling!

What does she want?

Dave

Sure. It is similar to wth WF Legato. With (5) .05pt stones on each side.

Does *she* want more bling?

If so, I''d suggest getting both a wedding ring and a matching "guard ring" that can flank the e-ring on the other side. I like my rings to match, so I''d rather see all stones being .05. That would give a nice stacking ring effect too.

The ball is in my court. She was very very happy with what i got her for her ER. She just wants more diamonds :)

Mis... I know her and I think she would think that 2 additional rings would be 1 too many. Thats why i am trying to come up with a single ring sollution....

I like the symmetrical look of bands on both sides with same size stones. Why don''t you get 2 rings with 5 pointers each and give her one on wedding day and one on first anniversary?

I think the 10 pointers next to a 5 pointer e-ring would look a little off..don''t know for sure though b/c i''ve not seen it in person. I would suggest just doing one band with the .05''s though, this will still be a lot of bling when next to the e-ring but I think 2 band''s, one for either side would be fab. too, made up of the .05''s. Get her one to start and you never know she may change her mind on the band for the other side..

Soo far it seams that the general opinion is 2 bands. I deffinately think that I should be keeping it with .05ers. I really dont think that 2 bands is her style.( And I know her well :)

I am throwing this one out there, it was one of my original thoughts. This BUT 1\2 eternity. Does anyone think that the lack of symatry in the set would detract from its appeal?

Hi there!! Here is my 2 cents (since you've asked *wink*).

I personally like the look of a co-ordinating band rather than a MATCHING band. IMO, the band you just posted *may* be too stylistically different, and therefore detract from the e-ring instead of highlighting it!

My opinion would be to try on a ring that will give a simmilar effect as what I went for...

In my case, my ering had 1 row of pave, so my wedding band was 3 rows of same size stones, but the two outer rows were set on at 45 degree angle, therefore coordinating, but not exactly matching. See pics below.

You could contact Mark T and see what kind of a shared prong setting he could come up with for 2 OR 3 rows of 3 pointers and MOST importantly...go try everything on (that you can get your hands on) from a B&M. One answer will present itself more clearly than the rest. Good luck!

PS. From an aesthetic point of view - I MUCH prefer things in odd numbers, So three lines of diamonds opposed to 2. Just my opinion though ;)

Hummm... Well I have decided on 2 things soo far. DEffinately going to stick with .05ers . And if in doubt just go with a single row shared prong band in 1\2 eternity. Also, going to have to take her to some stores to look at anything different than that to make sure that everything looks asthetically correct...

This has been a tremendous ammount of help. Thanks much All
