Opinions please! I am looking to re-mount my diamond (an oval, 9.52, 6.8, 4.30 SI H color) and am possibly interested in working with Ann Harrington (http://www.annharringtonjewelry.com/). The proposed setting is attached in a file.

What do you think about this setting, everyone? I am debating between yellow and white gold (my wedding band is yellow).

Thanks for everyone''s opinions!

Does she have any real pictures of the setting? Those pave stones don''t look very well set to me, but could jsut be the doctored picture...

No she doesn''t, she was just trying to put together a photo. I cannot seem to find an oval halo with 2 side stones anywhere!

Do you have any experience with the jewelry company and their custom work? It doesn''t seem like they do real custom pieces, but they use one mold and then have to resize everything that is not their stock size (6 or 7). I cannot find any examples of custom pieces on their webisite.

I think you are right. But what she said was that they will take what I like (this is a combination of several rings), and size it correctly for my diamond.

The entire ring- minus my stone- will be 2500.

Thoughts? Help!

I think the setting looks really pretty!

That is a lovely ring!

A 2-tone would work: YG shank with a platinum of WG head. She would have to do a bit of finessing as to where the 2 metals meet but I think it could work.

Mine was done that was b/c I have a YG wedding band, and my new e-ring is a replacement of one originally from 1987. So I kind of wanted to honour the original design.

Here''s a little pic if it helps to visualize what I mean.

Good luck!

I don't know what your budget is, but Tacori has an oval halo with side stones in their "Dantella" line. I will try to attach a pic of the oval shown with pears. The side stones don't have to be pears.

Ritani has a cool halo with side stones. I tried one on like this with sapphires. They can make it for an oval.

Here''s a Ritani Bella Vita halo with side stones. Again, can be made for an oval.

I like the one from Tacori, but am looking for a wider shank toward the diamond, narrowing down a bit toward the middle/back. Believe it or not, this has been the hardest part to find: all I seem to find with halos are narrow, pave type bands.

That is why I thought maybe a three stone look with a halo might work (but then again...!).

Thanks for all opinions,
Karin
