OK well I am getting closer to realising my dream of an upgrade for my 20th anniversary. After my fantastic experience with my earrings from whiteflash I decided to proabably get the stone myself and have it set here in Australia. Can I please have opinions on this stone that Tim from GOG has found for me. TIA

Here

It''s a little deeper than I personally prefer, but everything else looks good.

That should be a beautiful stone...and especially fiery! Can''t go wrong with H&A!

ditto...

looks good to me.

Oh, gosh, I almost referred that stone to another girl today! I''m glad I didn''t since you are interested in it! It gets three very highs on the Gemex brillancescope (which is as good as it gets!).

to deep for my liking but then again
I may have bad eyes,

So to those who thought it too deep does that mean "less bang for the buck?"

Kate,

The stone is AGS0 for light performance, proportions, and finish. That is the top grade given by the AGS. The stone is not deep. Many of us on here have a tendency to nitpick numbers sometimes (yes, I do it, too!), but I haven''t seen a bad AGS0 hearts and arrows stone on here yet!

Since you''re curious about how a stone with 62% depth looks, here''s a picture of two stones I am considering for earrings. They are also AGS0 ideal cut. You can see the reflection of the stones..they look wonderful to me! And you can ask for a picture like this if it would help.

The depth is fine. Any gain in spread you''d get from less depth, like maybe 61.1% will not be noticeable.

The 62% cutoff is arbitrary, though not entirely random.

The diamond looks great. especially the triple VHs on the brilliantscope report. The deepness of the stones probably means you are paying for a little more weight, perhaps 0.05cts extra. I have a 62% stone too, no biggie.
