Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

First of all, this is not a solicitation at all. Just letting you know. I don't have any affiliation with any diamond dealer.

I am shopping for a diamond for my girlfriend for an engagement ring. I went online for it because I was told I could get much better prices. I agree, it seems this is the case. Regardless, I have been looking at this diamond and I was wondering if anybody would like to give their opinion to strengthen (or weaken) my confidence since I am buying online. It is a certified diamond and I have a video of it sparkling so that you can see the "fire". I asked the guy to send me the video because I just wasn't confident buying the stone (even with a 14 day return policy) if I couldn't at least see it first.

It is a .90 carat, I VS1 Cushion with a polish/symmetry rating of VG/VG. Also, the measurements of it are 5.92x5.20x3.41mm, the Depth % is 65.6% and the Table % is 58%, Fluorescence is none. He was asking $2500 for it. Here is the video http://youtu.be/S16HisdmAIs. Would anybody like to share thoughts on the piece? I might try to go a little bigger since I think I can afford more than $2500 but haven't decided yet.

Welcome! I am pretty sure we are not allowed to post videos here, so you might want to remove that. But I did take a look and just couldn't get a good enough view to tell anything about the cut of the stone anyway.

I would encourage you to contact Engagement Rings Direct and Good Old Gold, both in NY, because they specialize in very fine quality cushion cut diamonds. You can look through pictures on their sites, but also you can call and ask them if they can locate something if they don't have what you need in stock.
