I have it on hold from WF

1.02 AGS J SI1 ACA

. Report: AGS
. Shape: A Cut Above H&A
. Carat: 1.020
. Depth %: 60.3
. Table %: 57.4
. Crown Angle: 34.7
. Crown %: 14.8
. Star : 51
. Pavilion Angle: 40.7
. Pavilion %: 42.8
. Lower Girdle %: 76
. Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted
. Measurements: 6.52-6.54X3.94
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Negligible

The only thing that gives me slight pause is the J color and negligible Fluorescence but Lesley at WF assures me that its very white and I think I read that Fluor can sometimes help a stone seem whiter. It''s within budget, I know it''s a great cut. What do the experts think? I will attempt to post the images in a moment if I can figure it out.

Thanks for the help!

It''s a great stone, and any really well cut stone will appear whiter than a poorly cut stone. Unless the intended wearer is sensitive to color, it should be fine.

It looks like a great stone. An ideal-cut stone will always face up whiter than a non-ideal stone of the same color. The J is a personal preference, many PSers have J''s that they adore. Be aware that it may show some color from the side. I think WF has a 10-day evaluation period, also they have a great upgrade policy so you could start with this stone and move up to a higher color later if you were not satisfied with the appearance of the J.

It''s a stunner! Good luck!

I think it looks like a beautiful diamond. I have a J colour from Whiteflash and it faces up very white to me. Have you seen different colour grade diamonds in person?

Thanks guys!

I''m the intended wearer and I have seen a selection of stones at numerous B&M stores, I''m not really sensitive to color. I think a sparkly J would look like a G to me.

Basically, my BF wants me to choose the stone and then he''ll take care of the purchase, send it off to be set and from there it will be a surprise when I get it. I picked what I think is a very simple setting from Etienne Perret attached. I''m going to do 18K white gold because the price of platinum is prohibitive and I would rather have a quality stone.
