Well there is a feather right there on the edge; I guess it depends. I am curious what the experts say but I would be a little worried chipping it maybe???

Uh-oh, competition ;) We''re looking at the same diamonds...

Oh no we''re not ready to buy but it came up in our budget from the searches and I though the Idealscope and the image looked so great. I am thinking of a prong or bezel halo (after much debate about a colored gemstone ctr AND possibly an eternity band) and I just thought this hit the sweet spot in color, arrows etc but thought . . . am I missing something?

Kudy if the experts say YEA! then I say HEY! go for it!! It really seems like an awesome stone . . .

Yes, this is a very tempting looking stone from my point of view as well, but I am a newbie, so I might wait a while before I squeeze the trigger as well. We''ll see.. more importantly, I need to come up with a way to give it to her once I have it ;)

I she expecting it? Do you have an idea of what she wants? Have you picked out a setting? YES I am a fountain of questions!! So very exciting. My darling BF knows what a total psycho I am about diamonds and rings so I am totally in the process but ultimately I am to "point him in the right direction" and then just shut up!! Not sure how I am going to do that but I will certainly try . . .

She is hoping for it, but probably not expecting it.

I believe I know her style, and I know the basics, but I don''t think she would even have an opinion about the diamond, except maybe the size. I am definitely going to be more picky and exacting than she would be in the selection of a stone (I tend to over-research things, but this is one time where I don''t feel bad about it).

I have looked at a ton of settings in the last week, and can''t find much that I really like - maybe a simple channel set, maybe. Otherwise, I am leaning towards a simple (inexpensive) classic tiffany, so I can put most of the money into the diamond, and she can upgrade later if she wants. It''s a tough decision though.

If you are not sure about a setting then the best place to go is with a simple (read INEXPENSIVE!!!) setting like a Tiffany 4or 6 prong replica and let her choose the ultimate setting for HER! This way you can maximize your budget on stone size! What is your budget if you don''t mind my asking????

My budget is $2000-$2500, I have detailed more about my search in my thread:

I would love any advice.

It looks like an awesome stone, however I can definitely see a big feather during the edge. I would call and ask whether it poses a durability threat and whether it can be covered completely with a prong. If it can be, then I think it represents a great value!
