I''ve been looking at e-ring diamonds on and off for so many months, and I think I''m finally ready to buy!

I''ve found one that fits my criteria almost perfectly, but I am somewhat terrified of spending so much money all at once, so I''d really appreciate any feedback on whether this looks like a great stone. I have it on hold now and the (bank wire) price is $3360.

Thanks so much for your advice! Link to the diamond

That''s a teeny tiny table. looks pretty nice. Cool Microscopic 2 picture.

yeah, 60% table is on the low side, but with a princess isn''t there a pretty wide range of acceptable proportions, and some discrepancy as to how proportions correlate with sparkliness?

do you think this is a problem? what are the implications of a tiny table?

thanks!

I don't think it's a problem. Just making a comment. I think I like more squared tables, though. It reinforces the outline. I don't think you'd notice, generally, though. Or care.

I think it looks great. The ASET image looks good, and it scores really well on the BrilliantScope too.

Some people may be bothered by the round table shape, but that shouldn''t affect the performance of your stone.

Thanks for the input.

After doing a little research on this site, it seems like princess cuts with excellent light performance often have smaller and/or rounded tables (superbcerts in particular). I''ve never paid that much attention to the shape/size of the table when looking at stones in person (I''m pretty new to all this...), so I don''t really know what impact it might have on the appearance of the stone. Is a small/round table something the average observer would notice?

In any case, I think the ASET looks great, so I will most likely take my chances and have them mail me the stone so I can see it with my own eyes. Thoughts?

Worth having the stone shipped to you for review. I like stones with small tables so there''s less table glare and more sparkles all around.

Is a princess cut what your future FI indicated she wants? I ask because for an almost 1 carat stone, it willl face up smaller than a 3/4 round.

yes, she definitely wants a princess. i wish she wanted a round =) i like them better and am aware of the difference in apparent size, but so it goes.
