One, I''ll take a look, but the rules don''t allow linking outside of PS. You need to load the pics on to the site. Just a heads up, as I know the link will be removed.

Link to loading pics.

Hi Onemax, good to see you!

The photos need to be uploaded directly to Pricescope as linking to other photo hosting sites is against policy.
I managed to load the better ones for you.

Most welcome! The pics are small and not detailed so it is hard to tell much, if the stone is with an online vendor, is there a possibility they could provide an ASET image as well as some clearer closeup photos?

Also have you checked very carefully that this diamond is eyeclean to your standards by asking the vendor?

Sorry about the link... I''m such a Newbie

If you clicky, they enlarge.

I''ll post a couple.

One, have you seen many cushions in real life? Do you know the different "looks" they can have?

One more.

Yes, I can''t believe how many cushion cuts there are! I like the Chunky ones best or a round cushion but they seem to be pricey.

I just want to make sure the stone doesnt have too much of a crushed ice look.

Thanks El, much better!

I can see a bit more clearly now, the first thing I would do is ask what the grade setting inclusions are, or the reason this diamond has been graded SI2, can you find out if it is clouds, feather etc? The vendor will know what you mean, what I am interested in is what inclusions are drawn on the clarity plot so if you could find out what those are that would be a big help. To be honest I am not keen on this cushion, it looks dull and lack lustre. If you decide to go for it make certain the vendor has a good return policy so you can return it if you decide it isn't right for you.

What is your budget Onemax, maybe we could hunt down some cushions for you?

Yes, there are lots!

I couldn''t find the video on that page, so I haven''t seen it in action. But my guess would be, looking at the pics/cut, that it would indeed have the crushed ice appearance.

Have you seen the videos of GOG''s chunky cushions? (I don''t know how much you know/have lurked)

You do pay for CUT, but a smaller, well cut chunky cushion would be just as showy (and quite possibly moreso) than a smaller cushion of a different cut.

Most velcome.

I will agree that the stone is not giving me a warm, fuzzy feeling....

You guys are great, thanks!

The stone is for my brother as he is looking to propose!

His budget is about $8K USD I think.

Im looking at the cert (it''s a bit blurry) and there seems to be some clouds on the table. Also, the Key symbols are: Crystal, Cloud, Feather and Needle.

I love the chunky''s in this video! http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/5900

Thanks again!

YES, GOG's signature cushions are devine.

And that's the type of stone I'm talking about when I say, that even in a smaller size vs. another larger so so cut stone, it could easily outshine it.

Ok, I was wondering as you bought yours!

I was curious if there were grade making clouds, besides that it doesn't look to be the best cut the diamond looks to me as if it might have clouds which could impact brilliance - this is purely speculation on my part, but if he goes for it I would definitely recommend he makes sure of a return policy and gets an independant appraiser to check it out.

Haha, ya my Finace is so happy with her ring! Thanks to you guys!!! It''s only a G SI2 but she receives complements on it''s clarity almost daily! I''m so happy with it sometimes I wish it was mine... Ok I won''t get carried away.

Back to my brothers stone, did you have a chance to view the video?

The vender clains it''s completely eye clean and it does look good in the pictures, however, I am not too impressed with the way it shines. It seems to have lots of fire but no "dancing" effect like my RB stone has. What I would like to see is small "mirrors" under the table like the ones in the GOG Chunky cushions.

Do you agree?

So glad we were able to help you! That did get me wondering LOL!!

I didn't see the video no, it doesn't look to be a well cut cushion from what I can tell. The GOG cushions are Jon's new signature line and they are spectacular, specially designed to give those chunky colour flashes, they are incredible! Has your brother seem these? I know I would rather go smaller and have one of Jon's beauties than the one in the photo but thats me - and I love size! The cushion in question looks to have more of a 'crushed ice' effect rather than the chunky faceted look, but to me it looks rather lifeless and cloudy in the photos....Which vendor has it?

Lovely shape but the inside leaves a lot to be desired.

Ditto, to all. He should have more coming in, if your brother is not in a huge hurry. Honestly, I''d rather see him get one of these, as they are just "knock your socks off" stones. There is no doubt about whether these "perform" or not.

I couldn''t find the video, but from viewing the pics, and your description, I just think he could do better. Just mho.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone!

I have the GOG Chunky video up on my screen ready to show my brother when he comes over.

I will keep you posted on what he decides.

I also have to post some pics of the ring I gave to my fiance, I have been lazy in taking some nice shots of it.
