I have been searching for oval shaped diamonds online trying to fine a diamond with good clarity, color, cut, etc. I need opinions on this one diamond I found. I have been doing extensive research on diamonds but I feel more confused by all the information I have found. Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the info:

Shape: Oval Brilliant
Carat: 1.56 carat
Color: J
Clarity: Internally Flawless
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Fluorescence: Faint
Measurements: 10.15 x 6.79 x 3.41
Table: 65%
Depth: 50.2%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick (faceted)
Cutlet: None

This diamond was certified by GIA in August 2008.

Again any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Meredith,

It isn't really possible to judge a fancy shape just by numbers as detailed photos and reflector images such as ASET are needed, having said that the first thing that jumps out at me is that the table percent is much greater than the depth, usually the reverse is preferred. If this measurement is correct I would keep looking. Also unless you particularly wanted IF clarity, you could drop this to VS comfortably and perhaps look for a higher colour, ovals can show warmth more readily than rounds and a J colour in this size might show a slight hint of tint.

Is this diamond an actual in house diamond with an online vendor?
