Hi ccnnz,

I would be cautious with this diamond, it is entering what we call steep deep territory with the angles, a less steep crown angle for example 34- 35 would be preferable with this pavilion angle. The thing is we really need an Idealscope image to see if this diamond has any leakage from the angles but BN do not provide them. Do you have any other diamonds you are considering?

Agreed, this round is not looking good.

I put up some suggestions in your previous topic. Try and go for AGSL graded stones with a AGS0 in cut grade and you should be safe.

Thanks again folks, its hard because there seems so many variables in knowing what is a good stone or not.

The USA based sites are very good and seem to have the best deals and information, charts etc but to buy from here in the UK is tricky because we have to pay VAT of 17.5% on top of the total purchase price and also customs duty which may be another 10%.

Blue nile also don't have any settings I like as we are after a Tiffany style but without the knife edge.

This one better?

Take a look at your other thread, I found out the import duties for you if you purchased from the States and also someone you can contact in the UK who might be able to help you find a great diamond! That way she can quite likely obtain the setting you want to make the process easier without the possible risks of having the diamond set elsewhere should anything happen, as often a jeweller or vendor will not take responsibility should a diamond chip or break they did not sell while setting. This is rare but prudent to consider, so it can be best to have the whole thing done by the same seller where possible.

You could buy the stone and set it with a local jeweler?

Hi , yes that''s what i was hoping to do if I find a nice diamond.

When we went to Hatton Garden many said they are not interested in selling the rings on their own etc only with diamonds.
