Hello all,

I''m going to be purchasing an engagement ring in the very near future and wanted to know people''s thoughts on three stone rings with other gemstones on the sides (specifically sapphires). I''ve been looking at these 4:

1) http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_382-1739_build.asp?module=setting
2) http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_382-1673_build.asp?module=setting
3) http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_382-1731_build.asp?module=setting
4) http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_382-1745_build.asp?module=setting

I haven''t decided whether to go with the white gold or the platinum, but I don''t know that the price of platinum makes it worth it to consider.

What do you think of these kinds of rings? If you like the idea, which one do you like best?

Thanks!

Oh, I put this in a separate post so as to stay on topic. Hope no one minds!

That''s a very distinct look, are you sure your FI wants colored stones in her E-ring?

IF you know that she wants color in her engagement ring, I like the round sapphire sides. But I personally would prefer diamonds on for an e-ring...I think otherwise it might just be mistake for a pretty ring.

Thanks guys. After thinking it over, I think I''m going to go with something more traditional.

I think the sapphires in the setting are beautiful! There are several three stone rings that have been posted by other PS members (San Diego Lady has a beautiful one) that have colored sidestones, as well as non-three stone settings with colored stones and colored stones as the center stone. Phew...you may want to look through the e-ring eye candy folder at the top of the Show Me The Ring forum. It really all depends on what your FI would want.

Out of the ones you posted, I like the round stones the best and the trillions are a close second. The pears are pretty, but they look too big for the center stone.
