Hello all..I've been searching on and off for quite some time now for a great princess cut. Its all very confusing, especially when I read posts about how the numbers don't really matter as much when it comes to these types of diamonds (aka perfect numbers may not add up to a great stone, and vice versa). I've been looking at these 3, a bit over my budget really but I'm really considering since I want something really close to 1 carat.

Would really appreciate any opinions or thoughts...I'm finding it pretty tough searching for these cuts since so many sites don't provide enough information, or just one picture.

Thanks!

Hi Sing,

Either 1 or 3 should be very nice. #2 is rather deep, and facing up much smaller than the other two.

An I might possibly show some color, due to the square shape, which can show warmth a bit more.

If it were me, I''d try for 1 first. You need to find out if it''s eyeclean. If so, that would be my pick.

Hi Sinj,

I''m certainly not an expert, however, given that #1 is a little bit bigger, for about the same price, if it is completely "eye clean", I would say that one would be winner!

That F/SI is a great combo!

... also, Ellen always seems to know what she is talking about

and for more technical reasons, that would be her selection as well ... How could you go wrong?

Thank you Ellen and Spark, I really appreciate the input. Assuming #1 is eye clean, do you think this is a good price? I''ve also heard great things about GOG here. I''m getting excited about this stone.

Yes, I do. And you are getting the look of a 1 ct. without paying for it.

GOG is a very good company to work with.

Let us know if you get it! And you''re very welcome.

Wow, .99! That is a rare and desirable size! I''d have to see that one first, too!

Thanks everyone!

Just wanted to update that I went with this one :) Wired the money today.

Princess cut

And I plan on getting this setting, the Royal X Prong for the princess cut (I hope the picture works). I like it because the ring (shank, right?) itself tapers thinner as it gets to the actual diamond.
