I recently started looking at engagement rings for myself (my boyfriend doesn''t have a clue how to pick one out and wants me to)
Right now I''m torn between a few settings from ritani and verragio.
We''re buying a stone seperately that will be .75 - .80 carats, and rb, asscher or cushion cut.

I found this setting from the Verragio couture collection (0397) which I''m in love with, it''s $2100

The Insignia 7023 (2nd pic posted) is the one I truly want but it just costs way too much $3700 for just the setting

and I don''t think there''s any way to find it cheaper.

What do you think of these 2 settings? Would either look good with an asscher cut?

IMHO, between these two pictures, I can picture an asscher diamond looking better in the Insignia. There''s just something about the lines and the knife edge...now a cushion or a rb would look great on either of the settings.

I agree...they are both beautiful though. Are you concerned at all with the size of the stone? I think a
RB will show up larger than an asscher. I think a cushion would show up smaller too due to the depth
(someone correct me if I''m wrong). Have you asked for any custom quotes? Someone might be able
to do the second one for you (with some changes) for less than the $3700. It might be worth
checking into.

They are both beautiful, but I actually really love the first one, and I think it would look great with a round in a .75 - .8 ct stone. (My solitaire setting is by Verragio, so I love the designer - beautiful settings!)

I think that a round is your best bet for a stone that size, because asschers and cushions can face up MUCH smaller than rounds. I think that unless you want a halo setting, I would stick with a round, which looks big and sparkly at .75 carats.

I know because my first diamond was an asscher solitaire, and it faced up at only half the size of a round brilliant solitaire of the same size.

Tyty & Vesper bring up a great point. Consider how the size of your center stone will look in the settings. I''m considering these settings myself (in addition to some Tacori''s & Ritani''s). IMO, these settings are beautiful & interesting enough to draw attention AWAY from the center stone, which isn''t what I''m looking for. So I''d be weary of that.

To answer your question though, I like the Insignia 7023 very much!

Cheers

Love #1 and I would stick to RB for #1, if you were to go with a different cut stone, then the sidestones would have to change as well to make it look well balance in terms of lines and sparkle imo.

I''d stick with #1. #2 looks a little too ornate for an asscher.

Love #1.

Agree #1 with the RB sidestones!

Hey Stephanie,

You picked two really gorgeous rings from Verragio''s Couture and Insignia collections.

In my opinion I prefer the 7023 but in the end of the day it will be on your finger so you may want to try them on and make sure you are happy with them. They will both look amazing with round, cushion or asscher diamond.

I just did a quick search online and found the Insignia 7023for $1870 and Couture 0397 for $2310 at Shenoa Diamonds.Couture 0397

You may want to give them a call to see what they say.

Good luck!
