Any thought/suggestions would be appreciated. I am looking for a princess that is between .60 and .90 ctw without spending more than $2800 on the diamond. My GF ring size is a 5, she doesnt really care about the size of the diamond she just wants something pretty.

nice setting. ask for all their in-house analysis to be sent to you.

which reports will they be able to provide me with?

I would just recommend going more toward the .90 range as princess cut has more weight in the depth, so they face up smaller than a round of similar weight. You can certainly go to G color and VS2 and have a great looking diamond as long as you look for an excellent cut.

how much more $$ is something in the .90 range going to be for a good diamond

I am having the most difficult time find a diamond that I like. Most of the one''s I find seem to have imperfections like feather and cloud. Is feather something I want to stay away from? I thought I read somewhere that its not good if you have a princess cut.

I was thinking of trying to stay with james allen cause they have 2 settings that I like that i havent seen on other sites. I''m assuming if i get the diamond and the setting from them they will set it no?

Not sure about feathers in Princess, someone else will have to address that part.

As to the stone and setting question, yes, they will set it. But some jewelers will set a stone bought from them with a setting from somewhere else. I know GOG will, but you''d have to check the others.

Good luck!

Yes, they will set it.

You mention feathers and clouds. If you are looking at VS1 or VVS2, you don''t have to worry about inclusions as they will be difficult for you to find even with a 10x loupe. I also like high clarity. There can be good VS2''s as well, but it''s a little more work finding the right one.
