Opinions on Possible Purchase

I think it looks fairly good, but in my searches on their site, I usually prefer the scores of 97-100 (sometimes 96). Since this stone does not have the most ideal numbers, it is a stone I'd want an idealscope image for, and they may not be able to access it.

Well, personally, I love superideal cut stones because you just can't have regrets later when you buy the best at the outset. I do personally have a pair of WF ACA diamonds for stud earrings and love them. I love their trade-in policy because it has allowed me to upgrade my studs a little at a time. If I change my mind and want higher color, etc., I can do that, too. But I can tell you, they are very beautiful stones.

This one would be my favorite of the three stones posted in this thread if it is in budget and a size she would like:

The WF 2.02 is a fine stone as well, though.

Whiteflash also carries a nice range of quality designer and in-house settings.

And you are welcome! It is a fun hobby to help others find diamonds and settings since I certainly can't buy an endless amount for myself! ;))

Thanks for the advice! I live a few hours from Texas so I was thinking of stopping into Whiteflash to see the actual stones in person. Maybe it'll help with the decision process. If theres any other diamonds you'd recommend from the search from them please feel free to recommend them =)

Oh, that would be awesome if you could go soon to see them! I think that 2.18 will be hard to beat, but if you make an appointment, just ask them to please bring out about 3 other stones closest to that for you to compare (within your budget, of course). I'll take a quick look, though!

I'd compare that 2.02 Expert Selection stone if the 2.18 is either too large or above budget. Someone right now has a 2.07 I VS2 on hold and may switch it for a 1.96 or so H stone that they had selected first. I'd want to see either of those that she doesn't buy.

I will add that they are getting low on the stones with the specs you want, so the sooner you can put one on hold and go see a few, the better.

It is a little more than I wanted to spend but am playing with it as a possibility >< I will call them tomorrow and set an appointment but probably wouldn't be able to make it out there til the second week of March due to work. Thanks for looking into other possible choices for me and for pointing out they are running low on the specs I'd like. Hopefully they'll have or get more to find the perfect one!

I hope you find the perfect one! Please come back and let us know!

Hey it's me again! I am about to go out there this weekend and wanted your opinions on two possibilities from whiteflash as well as one other one that someone showed me.

Here's the one that a different vendor showed me and wanted your opinion on the specs. I couldn't find any other information on it so will really value your feedback. Don't have any images of it or anything. Thanks again!

And still the one I want the most but is a bit above the budget ><

Thanks for the reply and for your input. Wanted more to ask how the first stone compared to the bottom two. I realize that it doesn't have the images taken to compare to but was just wondering what you think it's value would be. Trying to see if you all would think the first stone is worth around $20000ish. I'll be looking at all 3 in the next week and will be broke soon enough! Thanks again.

Any inputs on the AGS stone linked vs the other two? =/

The first is likely a very nice 60/60 style stone. If you haven't read about them yet, do some searching on 60/60 stones. It is smaller than the other two but sometimes the larger table gives the illusion that the diameter is larger. It will be a bright stone but might not be as fiery as the others. If you are going to see them in person just let your eyes decide which flavor you like. Between those two ideal stones, I'd for sure take the eye clean SI1 over the more expensive one. I think it will look nearly identical to the naked eye as the images look so similar. I'm actually surprised the more expensive one isnt showing clefts in the hearts with the 80% LGF. Either will be beautiful, but i think you will see that in person they look the same.

Any input what you think it's value would be and if 20000 would be a good price for the VS1? I know it's relative to the person but would it be wise to spend 3000 more for the other? Or rather what route would you go lol. Thanks again!

For that size, clarity, and color 20k seems like a fair price for the stone. Whether it is worth 3k more to get the ideal proprtions will be completely up to you and what your eyes tell you. Ask to compare the ideal cuts to a nice 60/60 style stone to see what your eyes like. You can ask if they have any in approximately the same size and color that have ags 0 light performance. They may not, but worth asking. Compare in as many lighting environments as possible and make sure all stones are cleaned first. It's impossible for anyone here to know what you will prefer. The ideal cut is popular because it is a nice balance of brightness and fire.

Oh, sorry I missed your latest post! I love both of the WF diamonds and I am anxious to hear if you went to see them!

I would not buy a stone with an almost 61 table even if it is graded ideal cut. I just think diamonds are more attractive with more of a crown showing. I generally set my search parameters for 54-58 for the table. I'd also wonder why it has a 2012 grading report.

Thanks for all the input.it's okay you missed it. I'm sure you're too busy helping others with questions like mine. I'm going to see the 2012 stone tomorrow. An acquaintance who does it for a living actually is showing and recommending me that stone based on my price range. The 2012 grading had me wondering too and why it hasn't been sold by now if it was a great stone lol. I'm going to WF on Friday so hopefully I'll like the SI1 to save me some buckaroos! Decisions decisions!!!

It's me again! I went to WF today and it was a great experience. It turns out my girlfriend cannot tell any difference between an I and J so it has wanting me to get a J VS2- eye clean SI1 between 2.2-2.5! From what they had in inventory they showed me this one.

The images didn't seem to impress me like the 1.887 or 1.888.What are your opinions about this or any recommendations from WF in the J range? Thanks again. Back to the drawing board

Hey everyone still wondering what yall thought about that J 2.241? I went shopping around and was shown the 2.52 attached below for $23000. It looked great in person but wanted a second opinion. Thanks and sorry for asking for so many opinions.

The 36 crown angle is going to be the problem in this diamond. I looked at several the other day on another site and every one had leakage. If the pav angle is 40.8, usually 34.5-35.0 is going to be the best crown angle to avoid leakage. Oh, and it is deeper than we recommend, too, because when a stone is deep for the weight, the diameter can be smaller than it would be if the stone was not deep. Stick to 62.3 or less for the depth.

Any Whiteflash ACA is going to be a superior stone. I'd probably rather have this one or J color. But they have a lot of 2 ct I SI1's as well.

But I have to tell you, jewelry store lighting is not the place to judge color tolerance. You are going to see the stone take on a lot of environmental tint indoors and in incandescent lighting. Even my I color does that, so just be aware.

Thanks for all your advice and your time. I keep finding myself going back to try and reanalyze everything I learned from you all. I think you convinced me into an I lol. I really love that 2.188 but it's a bit above the price I was looking to spend. She showed me this one that just came up and wanted to know your thoughts on it? It doesn't quite meet that 2 carat mark I was looking for but the savings are substantial. http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3365302.htm

Thanks for your time once again and sorry to keep asking!

Hey everyone,

I think I have decided to just spend a little extra and get the eye clean 2.188. Brittany has been very patient and helpful! It's been a pleasant experience for me while visiting WF and the whole communication process. I can definitely see why you all recommend them! I decided to get the setting made custom and will definitely be lurking around PS. Thanks everyone for the input and helping me along the way.

Hi, Richard! I am sorry I missed your last question in the post before your one today! I am excited for you to be getting the 2.18! I think you'll be glad you got I color in the long run and certainly that is an excellent size! Better get that diamond on hold asap!

Thanks for your help along the way! Someone must have seen my post and put it on hold before I could do so! Luckily, they were able to speak with the person and the person wasn't sure and removed the hold. I was planning on pulling the trigger tomorrow and wanted to get your opinion on everything about this stone before so. Any negatives that come to mind? Thanks again for your time!

Hey diamondseeker,

To add to my post, what is your thoughts on the price? I understand you're paying more for an ACA diamond and with quality comes dollar signs ><. I was looking at the other guy you helped with that 2 carat for 17k and it makes me cringe at the cost difference! LOL again thanks for your time and helping out all of us newbies.

Looks like a winner!
