opinions on odd shaped/colored cushion omc?

im drawn to this stone....i dont have much info on it, but would it be hard to set if it were made a uniform shape? does the color make it a strange diamond or just interesting?

Here is the info on it.....
This stone is a little funky but would look amazing in a bezel!

Measure right at 6mm at the tallest point but most of the stone is 5.5. I'm estimating this between .70-.75 but calling it .65 to be safe.

I'm calling this Si-1. It is eye clean, with no blaring inclusions.

Color? I don't even know what to call it. Fancy brownish yellowish green? It has whiteish blue floresence which makes it dayglow green in some light.

Thoughts please?

I'd bezel it in a lighter yellow metal - 10k? 14k? - and put it on a thin cable-chain bracelet, or turn it into a pendant

I have seen that one floating around for awhile. I def think it's a cool and unique stone, something well suited for an organic look or clean and simple like a bezel pendant. I think a nice open bezel so you can turn it around and play with it would be cool! I would prob make the bezel yellow gold to bring out the lemony!

I was thinking bezel it, would it lose alot of size to become a uniform stone so it can be set? Depending on the color in person, would rose gold be too crazy?

Ive been wanting a colored diamond and since I recently aquired my first omc, I adore old cuts! As long as it gives off beautiful sparkle and is a good odd color, Im completely drawn to it!

I would think you would need a custom bezel if you want to maintain the natural shape of the stone, that's the way I would go. I wouldn't try to fit that puppy into a stock setting. Rose or yellow is totally up to you! The yellow will blend, the rose will stand out, your choice!

Edit from before to fix linky - BGD bezel'd my wonky-shaped antique cushions just fine, and the cost was very reasonable, so I think you could find someone to set it (properly, without the arm and leg cost of high-end handmade goods, if that's what you want of course!) ETA They didn't preserve the wonky shape exactly and didn't make it totally uniform either, if you want to preserve the shape fully I think you'll have to pony up for something hand-made.

Your bracelet is amazing! So setting the stones being off shape didnt call for ETthe stones to have to be reshaped to fit?

Thank you - and no, not at all. I didn't want any work done on the stones at all! One had some grazing and nicks on the girdle, but since it was going into a bezel I wasn't concerned. Yours looks to be in good condition though?

thats amazing that the bezel alone gave it a great shape! Its hard to wrap my head around the process on how it can be done but I guess thats why we leave our pretties to the pros!
