Hi, I posted about this diamond http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6292/ in this thread https://www.pricescope.com/communit...iffs-between-crown-height-depth-angle.170310/.
I've been working with Charlie at GOG, who's been great. He sent me two new scans. He said they still aren't perfect. But much better than before! I need some help interpreting these. I know it's cut a bit deep, and that makes it face up a little small, but I'm willing to live with a little extra depth if the stone has a tall, not flat, crown. Most of the emerald cuts I've seen have very shallow crowns and look flat, with tiny little steps. The price is right, and it's got the l x w ratio I want for a specific project.
So my questions are:
Is the crown height accurate on these scans?
If so, 16+ % would be a nice crown height, right? (Not flat).
There are only two steps on the crown, instead of three -- how does this affect the appearance/sparkle/flash of the stone?
Does crown angle have any meaning when assessing an emerald cut? (41.3%)
Still waiting to hear from GOG on the answer to Karl's question on how this stone handles tilt.
Thanks for your help on this!
