I have a 1.27ct marquise (~1.7 ratio, so it's a bit chubby) in a solitaire cathedral setting. My husband proposed with the ring about four years ago, and for all of those years, I have managed to skew the head, and it's always a bit off-kilter. I don't think that I bang it on anything, but even after having it at the jeweler to straighten it, it sits crooked.
The ring is 14K white gold, with a six-prong platinum head.
Is there another setting that would be a little less susceptible to knocks? I love my solitaire, but hate that I can't ever keep it totally upright.
Thank you.
