Need some opinions! BF and I are looking for an engagement ring setting, and this one really caught our eye when we first saw it. We've been searching for a while for something with some personality but not outrageous with small diamonds, as I work with my hands a lot. So, a local jeweler ordered it in, and we went and saw it this afternoon... and we both love it! The swirls and split shank are just enough personality, and it has a low enough profile also. (AND their diamonds are b-e-a-utiful!) It's just nice to try something on that seems to "fit" me

- most other settings have seemed either too "blingy" for my taste (I don't wear a whole lot of jewelry) or too boring (solitaires looked good, but no uniqueness).

The jeweler is going to find out if we absolutely HAVE to have a Lazare diamond in a Lazare setting (used to be that way, but he said it may not always be the case now). In the picture is around a 1.5ct center stone, and we are planning on between 1 to ~1.1 ct. We'd probably get a Lazare diamond anyway if we choose this setting, as the loose stones we've seen of theirs seem comparable in price and quality to anything else we've considered, plus we like dealing locally if we can.

So, just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the setting (and on Lazare in general if you have any thoughts) - PS advice and opinions are becoming invaluable! The ring itself measures a little over 6mm at its widest part, and the polished bands each are 2mm wide. All the small side diamonds are ideal cut. It felt great on my hand - a little wide, but it's just because I'm not used to any ring at all there.

Also, my plan would be to wear a plain polished 2mm wedding band with the ring so there is no competition. Tried that on and it looked pretty good. Any thoughts?

[Sorry, we meant to take some photos but didn't have the camera with us...]

I like it!

I mentioned photoshop people because I''m also entertaining the idea of a setting with a gemstone in it. I''ve seen some people on PS offer some awesome pictures they made with settings and center stones. The following are two stones I''m particularly interested in... curious what they''d look like in the Lazare setting above, or maybe just in a solitaire setting as well. Thanks in advance to anyone who feels like playing with some photos!!

Forgot to mention with the ring dimensions that I''m a size 6 - so the fingers definitely aren''t tiny, and the ring doesn''t seem to overpower my finger, but it''s the widest I should probably go, b/c I don''t have much space between my knuckles.

Anyone have problems with that with wider rings like this?

That ring is beautiful!

I love this setting!!!

I like this combination the best of the two colored stone options.

This one the prongs look a bit funky. I''m guessing it''s because of the shape of the stone, but at least it''ll still give you an idea.

I don''t know if this is even a possibility, but here''s one more idea for you to play with.

Wow, girlie-girl - you and your photoshop skills are AWESOME!!! Thank you so much for doing that! I really like the blue one, haha but I agree about the lavendar stone - it is a little funky in that setting, kind of ruins the fluidity. I think that would look better in a solitaire or simpler setting at least. But thank you so much for playing with those photos!

If anyone else has any thoughts on the setting, please let me know!

Yum!

And I actually love the one with the blue sidestones! Great idea with that - it looks great!!

Thanks for the compliments, I''m happy to have been able to help.

Hopefully you''ll be able to get the ring exactly as you want it and no matter which combination you choose, it''s sure to be beautiful. I can''t wait to see what you end up with!

Oh man, I love the blue sidestones!
