JA sent the images and crown height data for the two emerald-cuts I asked about in this thread https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/opinions-on-two-ja-emerald-cuts-please.170577/

Stone 1: .70 G VS2 http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/...ld-Diamond-1342275.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131
#1342275

Stone 2: .61 G VVS1 http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VVS1-Ideal-Cut-Emerald-Diamond-1443477.asp
#1443477

I have to say I was sort of bummed about the gemologist's comments on both stones: "Our gemologist determined that diamonds 1342275 (.70) and 1443477 (.61) both have darker light performance. Diamond 1342275 has higher G color performance and isn't quite as dark as diamond 1443477 but our gemologist feels you won't be pleased with the light performance it offers."

Despite its small table, the .61 diamond has a crown height of only 7.8%. The .70 has a crown height of 16.5%.

With that, here are the images -- feedback, please -- help me translate how these images and crown heights relate to the gemologist's comments about these diamonds having darker light performance.

I'm also including the Sarin scans from the GOG stone I linked in another thread. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6292/

Thanks for your advice!

First, the images for the .70

I need to double-check with GOG on how this diamond handles tilt. But right now, I'm not sure any of these three are "it."

I kinda agree with that, I think there are better ones out there.

Thanks, Karl. Yup, back to the drawing board, as they say. :read:

neither of those stones look fab imho, with a bit more hunting and time you should find a winner. :)

Thanks, chel. As Karl said in my other thread, inventories for EC's seem really picked over right now. I have to agree with that!

sending you dust for finding "the one"
