Attached is a picture of the diamond I'm looking at

Specs:
Round Brilliant
Carat: 1.71
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
Cut: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Table: 56%
Depth: 61.5%
Crown: 35.5
Pavilion: 40.6
HCA Score: 1.2 Excellent

1 inclusion which is a small crystal

I'm still waiting for an idealscope image. Next Question: With a GIA report, magnified image of the diamond, assurance that it is eye clean and an idealscope image do I really need to take it to an independent appraiser as well before buying?

no image?

Hi Jacobs

Are you still waiting on the IS image? The diamond has definite potential so if you post the image when you have it, we can go from there.

Whether to appraise....depends on your comfort level, it can be very useful to have a detailed appraisal for insurance purposes but its up to you. Some PS vendors include an appraisal with the stone that you can use for insurance but it never hurts to have an independant inspection and written report to have in case you ever need to make a claim.

Appraisal: depends on the vendor, I trust some whereas others I would have the appraisal done. Also depends on the requirements of your insurance.

Yes, they said they will try and have the IS to me by Friday. The picture I attached didn''t work, so I''m not sure what I did wrong there. It seems to be the best diamond I have found in my range. I sacrificed on color a little vs the F I was looking at, and it''s about the most clean diamond I''ve seen in an SI1 and even a little cleaner than some of the VS2''s I looked at. It grades pretty well on the rest. I would imagine the difference in color between F and G is very slight if even noticeable.

Correct.

Make sure the image is under 100kb, and hasa unique name with no unusual symbols. Opening the picture in paint usually gets it into a format PS will accept.

Well is James Allen pretty trust worthy? I''ve read some good reviews.
