Combined with the shallow cut, I would expect this diamond to have a much larger visual appearance. But the diameter is comparable to Ideal cuts of the same carat weight. This diamond seems to be hiding weight somewhere.

Also, the larger a diamond gets, the easier the more apparent inclusions tend to become. At SI2, you will want to be sure this diamond is eye clean.

You really need to get a Sarin to obtain the crown and pavillion info.

PQ, I think this diamond is hiding some weight at the girdle (med to slightly thick). Where else can the weight be?

I too would be cautious about a SI2 when a diamond is that large.

The price is good, but... as pqc says, we need more info!

Can you get the crown and pavilion angles? Have you seen the diamond in person? Unless you have your heart set on this particular stone (and it doesn't sound like you do) you may want to consider going down a little in color and up a little in clarity, especially, as chrono said, for a diamond of that size.

GIA doesn't offer crown & pav angles. Do you know how i can get these?

GIA runs a Sarin on all diamonds they Cert. Maybe the Vendor can call the wholesaler and get the info. If not, you can ask to have a Sarin or OGI run on the diamond. If there isn't a lab or jeweler in your city with the appropriate testing equipment, the diamond may have to be shipped.

If GIA runs a sarin on all diamonds that they certify, can those numbers be obtained from them? I'd love to get the numbers for a GIA stone I purchased.

Good question, and here's my HUMBLE 2 cents! From my limited experience, it seems like LOTS of people would like to have those #s for their GIA-certed stones. But apparently, if they give them to you, I think they have to kill you!

Seriously, that was the major reason why I decided to look into online buying, because of the comprehensive info provided. I just couldn't get that locally. You can certainly ask your vendor about getting those #s... maybe it would be a simple request. If all else fails, you can have it sent to an independent appraiser, but as I understand it, the stone has to be loose (unset) to be measured in a sarin or megascope machine.

Maybe someone with more experience than me can chime in on this, too.

The only person who can get the Sarin info from the GIA is owner of the diamond at the time of submission.
